When Saints Go Machine: Iodine
Today When Saints Go Machine’s followup to 2011s excellent ‘Konkylie’ hit the streets in Denmark and the rest of Europe (United States to follow May 28), and to mark that occasion I bring you the two amazing singles from ‘Infinity Pool’ released so far, ‘Iodine’ and ‘Love And Respect’ featuring American rapper Killer Mike.

Knút: Growing Old
Tuesday Faroese singer/songwriter Knút Háberg Eysturstein – or just Knút as he presents himself as an artist – celebrated his birthday with the release of the aptly titled single ‘Growing Old’ (although I don’t know how old). It’s the second prequel to his third album, ‘On High’, which is out in July, and here it [...]

Martin Rubashov: Let Them Go Ahead
May 29 Swedish singer/songwriter Martin Rubashov will release his debut album titled ‘The Watcher Of The Skies’. Two singles are out, ‘Run’ in February and ‘Let Them Go Ahead’ yesterday, and both solid shots of his folksy and catchy pop-rock, in many ways heard before but with that certain something in his delivery that makes [...]

In Vain: Ænigma
You know what?s great about ‘Ænigma’? Pretty much everything. The progressive/extreme metal act In Vain have made two albums, which were both great, but their third effort is plain brilliant. The Norwegian six-piece?s nine new songs are huge, operatic, rich, multilayered and so complex that I?m not seeing an In Vain tribute band being ready [...]

Kvelertak: Meir
Last year I saw Kvelertak perform a concert that was all kinds of awesome based on tracks from just their eponymous debut album, and now I am dangerously close to soiling myself with excitement at the prospect of seeing them at this year?s Roskilde Festival on the back of ‘Kvelertak’ AND ‘Meir’. The Norwegians second effort [...]

Following up 2010s lauded debut ‘The Looking Glass’ Lars And The Hands Of Light aka Lars Vognstrup has his second full length out in Denmark with second single ‘Time To Glow’ the spearhead for his international campaign (below you’ll also find first single ‘End Of Summer’). Disa: Sun
In 2008 Disa (then Dísa) released a very good, eponymous pop debut album, but after that I lost track of the excellent Icelandic songstress. Essence: Fractured Dimension
Essence made quite a splash in the metal community with their debut album ‘Lost In Violence’, and since the release the young Danish quartet has toured relentlessly in most of the world. Late last year Finnish trio with friends, Sans Parade, released the first sounds off their eponymous debut in shape of two song single ?The Last Song Is A Love Song/A Ballet In The Sea?, and earlier this year the album dropped. Cold Mailman: My Recurring Dream
Back in April Norway’s Cold Mailman released their third full length titled ‘Heavy Hearts’, which was preceded by the great single ‘My Recurring Dream’ and this mindbogglingly awesome video directed by André Chocron. We first featured Centimeter and their first single in English, ‘Motorhead’, about a year ago saying that “glockenspiel, piano, some nifty drumming, a great theatrical voice and a beautiful climax makes (it) a great little experience.” June 19, and really quite delayed according to their original release plans, the Swedish quartet will release their second [...]

MF/MB/: The Worst Dreams
Obviously I’m surprised that ‘The Worst Dreams’ is a single off MF/MB/’s second full length, ‘Colossus’, as I didn’t include it as a recommended track in my talk-up a couple of weeks ago? Nah, it’s as worthy of single status as the first one, ‘Casualties’, which didn’t make it on the list either, because ‘Colossus’ [...]
