On this lovely Sunday I&amp;#8217;m going to throw my feet up on the coffee table and let time pass. Enjoy that a way too busy week is over, and gather strength for the week to come. It&amp;#8217;s even better if you can watch time pass on a beautiful clock! This clock is called Scope and is from LEFF Amsterdam, designed by Dutch Erwin Termaat.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/FaqEscorts/~3/kOMYiiIZ4lA/</link>

<title>Shop Review: Red Wing Shoes Amsterdam</title>
            <link>http://denimhunters.com/history/jeanswear/redwing/rwam?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=rwam</link>
            <description>
Visiting Amsterdam and reporting on the shopping opportunities you have in the city of course I had to stop by the Red Wing Shoes store. And what an experience. Even though I&amp;#8217;ve seen most of the shoes and boots before and also own a few of them myself I was truly amazed of how inspiring the shop felt. This is a prime example of how to utilise and put into life the experience-shopping-culture. You simply have to put it on the top of your go-to-list.

The shop is located in the area of the 9 Streets on Reestraat 15. The wooden facade makes it hard to miss.

It&amp;#8217;s all about the small details that make up the big picture. Minimalistic visual effects like old tools, raw coal in the glass display cases, and a vintage Star &amp;amp; Stripes on the wall in combination with tiles and beautiful masonry work takes the experience and products to another level.

The 9029 and 9030 Beckman Moc boots.

The Beckman Oxford are really something. Combined with suit and tie they&amp;#8217;d make the perfect contemporary urban business man outfit.

I&amp;#8217;ve met a lot of people who would never dream of wearing their Red Wings during the summer. Personally I wear my Iron Rangers or Work Oxfords all year round, but if you like something more summer-ish pick up a pair of the Wabasha chukka or boot shoes that are hand sewn in Maine (read more about them here).

The 200-series of gorgeous dark red ox-blood leather and brown cushion sole.

All your favourite classics are naturally there as well.

The 2941 7-inch round toe is really something special. It&amp;#8217;s equipped with speed hooks that will allow you to put it on fast even when you&amp;#8217;re in a hurry, and the coffee-colored cushion crepe sole makes gives it outstanding support and comfort. Until recently this model was exclusively available in Japan, but the European Red Wing Shoes stores (Amsterdam, Berlin &amp;amp; Hamburg) now have it on stock. For the fall of 2012 it will also be available in selected retailers throughout the rest of Europe include Brund.

These boots sell very well with women.
About 30% of the turnover in the is based on other products than Red Wing Shoes. These include wallets and belts from Tanner Goods, bags from Filson and Woolrich, shoes care products, and magazines like Lightning and Inventory.
If you don&amp;#8217;t have the opportunity to visit the shop physically you can always follow their blog or have a look at their webshop. They ship worldwide for free.
You can read more about what I experienced in the Dutch capitol here.

            <title>Where I Went: Amsterdam</title>
            <link>http://denimhunters.com/travel/amsterdam?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=amsterdam</link>
<description>This article is the first in a series of travel guides to great places and cities around the world. During the lifespan of Denimhunters I&amp;#8217;ve wanted to share my experiences of cities like Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Malmö, Stockholm, and all other destinations I&amp;#8217;ve visited, but didn&amp;#8217;t find it suited for the site. Now, as the magazine is slowly expanding it&amp;#8217;s focus to include the lifestyle of jeans nerds and denim hunters and not only the products and where to buy them, I found it natural to share my travel experiences with you and give you some &amp;#8220;heads up&amp;#8217;s&amp;#8221;. And to underline the fact to these are merely my personal experiences, I&amp;#8217;ve called the new category &amp;#8220;Where I Went&amp;#8221;. First stop is Amsterdam; one of the most beautiful and romantic cities of Northern Europe. It is somewhat a hybrid of Venice and Paris with a cooler climate.

The city is surprisingly small and if you like me don&amp;#8217;t mind a little walking the most accessible way to get around is by foot. The narrow streets that run along the canals are really not suited for anything else the pedestrians and cyclists. But even though you naturally see some cars in the centre of the city, the favoured motorised mode of transportation among the locals seems to be scooters. And do mind them, they really go fast. Also, another famed characteristic of the city that is quite hard to miss in the streets is the trams. A little precaution is advised as they ride in the middle of the most busy streets.

It&amp;#8217;s expensive to stay at the hotels of the city, but relatively cheap to go out. The Netherlands has one of Europe&amp;#8217;s highest population densities and Amsterdam is one of the most crowded places in the country. Every square meter in the city is occupied for something useful and it&amp;#8217;s all very thought through. There&amp;#8217;s literally no excess space. But take it as a part of the experience, and don&amp;#8217;t expect any big hotel rooms with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms, unless you really come up with some big bucks.
If you&amp;#8217;re going denim hunting for either second hand or exclusive high-end brands, the best area of the city to find both is without a doubt the district of Jordaan and the 9 streets (de negen Straatjes). This is where you&amp;#8217;ll find shops like the Red Wing Shoes store, Tenue de Nîmes, the Denham workshop, the Lee shop, and an endless number of vintage shops like Zipper and Episode. You can read more about the underlined ones later here on the site.

If you&amp;#8217;ve found your way into the more touristy centre and shopping area and have become hungry from all the impressions Luden brasserie is definitely worth a visit. Get the cheeseburger or anything with fries and I&amp;#8217;m sure you won&amp;#8217;t regret it. And if the mood is right you also can get drunk in great Dutch draft beer for less than ?3 a glass (the picture above is taken at another café).
If you go to the northern part of the city around Noordermarkt, visit the cosy café Winkel 43 and order their famous appeltaart (apple pie), it&amp;#8217;s the best in the city. Another great place to have lunch is the small and overcrowded thai take-away slash snackbar Bird in the Red Light district. They serve some of the best thai food outside of Thailand. If you go across the street they have a full size restaurant as well.
When you wake up and the sun is shining; you want to get out for some fresh air, but you haven&amp;#8217;t really satisfied your shopping and denim hunting needs yet, head for the Waterlooplein Flea Market. With 300 stands and just as many peddlers you can be sure to find something of interest. It&amp;#8217;s open Monday through Friday from 9 AM and Saturday from 8.30 AM.
Being the hometown of G-Star RAW you could naturally get yourself a pair of vintage G-Star jeans at the market in central Amsterdam.
The Sint Antoniesbreestraat running from Waterloo to Nieuwmarkt has some great vintage shops, and if you head for the direction of Dam square, which you should otherwise by all means avoid, and pass through the Nieuwe Hoogstraat you&amp;#8217;ll find half a dozen inspiring second hand shops. This is also where the second Zipper is located and here I found a pair of beat up late 1970s-early 1980s vintage Levi&amp;#8217;s Redline jeans that I bought for ?25 (!). Much more on that later.
If you should get tired of the long days of shopping and late nights out in the city, maybe you what to explore some of the culture and art that Amsterdam has to offer. A save choice could by the Van Gogh museum, but otherwise the unspoiled Foam photography museum is truly recommendable. When I visited the city they exhibited a stunning collection of snapshots from the New York Times Magazine. Read more about it here.
If you decide to go to Amsterdam yourself I hope you have a great time and please report back if you find anything interesting that I have missed and you think is worth a visit. Also, if you&amp;#8217;ve recently visited other noteworthy cities or places that you think your fellow readers of this site would find interesting, don&amp;#8217;t hesitate to contact me and you might become part of the Denimhunters.

            <title>Vertonghen har frit slag</title>

&amp;#8220;Jeg har et par udspil liggende, men det er vanskeligt at udtale mig om i øjeblikket. Jeg ser hvad der sker, og om der er noget konkret i det.&amp;#8221;
Vertonghen slutter af med, at han netop nu blot ønsker, at fokusere på den resterende del af sæsonen og sikre Ajax mesterskabet.
Ajax fører, med fire spillerunder igen, Æresdivisionen med seks point ned til AZ.

<title>Sleep the way to your destination</title>
            <link>http://hejsonderborg.dk/sleep-the-way-to-your-destination/</link>
<description>We have already written about travelling to and from Sonderborg, either within Denmark or abroad previously in this blog. However, one way of travelling that we hadn&amp;#8217;t mentioned was travelling with sleeper trains.

We &amp;#8216;discovered&amp;#8217; the night trains by accident while looking for saver tickets on the Deutsche Bahn website. The service, known as City Night Line, connects a number of European cities during the night: you go to sleep in one country, and arrive refreshed the next morning ready to discover your destination.
From Padborg or Flensburg you can get on a train straight to Prague, Basel or Amsterdam (with stops in other places including Berlin, Frankfurt, or Cologne). Having discovered this possibility we couldn&amp;#8217;t pass it by, so we hopped on the train to Prague for an Easter break, leaving Padborg at around 22:00, and arriving in Prague the next day at around 9:30.
On the train there are a couple of sleeping options, from 4-6 person couchette compartments, to deluxe 2-person cabins. On this trip we tried the 4-person couchette compartment going there and an economy double cabin coming back. As would be expected, the double cabin was more comfortable than the shared couchette. However, since the other two people in the couchette compartment got off in Berlin, we had the cabin to ourselves for most of the trip.

So how was the experience?
This was my first time in a sleeper train. I wasn&amp;#8217;t sure how much sleep I would actually get. However, although there is quite a lot of bumping around at certain stations as the trains are reconfigured (the train leaves Copenhagen with cars meant for Prague, Amsterdam and Basel), having around 11 hours on the train means that you can get ample sleep. Both of us are pretty heavy sleepers and both got decent sleep but people who sleep lighter might have trouble falling asleep. We would consider these trains another time if we are heading in one of the directions of City Night Line. Waking up to the views of the train running along the river Elbe was worth it just on its own!
