            <description>
Azad Jammu Kashmir constitutes green benches
Following the Supreme Court?s initiative to hear environment related cases, all high courts and the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have constituted ?green? benches.

The move comes in light of recommendations of the Bhurban Declaration 2012 titled ?A Common Vision on Environment for the South Asian Judiciaries? during South Asian Conference on Environmental Justice held on March 24-25 under the aegis of the Supreme Court
 of Pakistan.
Various courts all over Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Islamabad have been dubbed as green courts while green benches have also been constituted to hear cases pertaining to the environment and the factors affecting it.
The chief justice of Lahore High Court has established a green single bench and green division bench. Similarly, all courts of senior civil judges-cum-judicial magistrates and of civil judges-cum-judicial magistrates at sub divisions have been declared as
green courts. All courts of district and session judges in Punjab have also been declared the same.
The chief justice of the Sindh High Court has also established a green single bench and a green division bench for the purpose and has even nominated judges to grace the benches.
The provincial chief justice has established green courts in all districts of Sindh and has directed all senior civil judges, civil judges and judicial magistrates of the respective districts to handle cases related to the Sindh Building Control Authority
and the Sindh Local Government Ordinance in these green courts.
The chief justice of Peshawar High Court has constituted a green division bench headed by the chief justice and comprising another judge, also to be nominated by him.
The chief justice of Balochistan High Court has also constituted multiple green division benches.
Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa will head the green bench in Quetta, while Justice Noor Meskanzai and Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar will be members of the bench at Sibi.
The chief justice of the Islamabad High Court has constituted a green single bench and a green division bench at Islamabad.

<title>PM Gilani says Supreme Court cannot dissolve assemblies</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/pFaE_n_Apoo/</link>
<description>Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said Article 58-2b, which allowed a president to dissolve the assemblies, is no longer part of the Constitution, therefore, he couldn?t hand this power to the court.
His remarks, which he uttered while speaking to the media persons in London, hinted heavily at a fighting mood. Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif want to become prime ministers without becoming MNAs, he added.
Later he addressed the parliamentarians at the British House of the Commons, saying that he had come to the United Kingdom on the invitation of Prime Minister David Cameron to further the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue (ESD).
The two countries have jointly decided to increase bilateral trade and investment, aiming to take trade to 2.5 billion pounds within a short span of three-year period. The premier commended role of UK played in the promotion of Pakistani trade with European Union.
He observed, ?We are also together in the common fight against terrorism and extremism. The democratic government has created national ownership to this campaign and has brought all stakeholders on board. Our Parliament has recently reaffirmed Pakistan?s commitment to the elimination of terrorism and combating extremism in pursuance of our national interest?.
He referred to terrorism and regional relationships, saying Pakistan was committed in eliminating terrorism and in enhancing its ties with its neighboring countries, particularly Afghanistan and India.
In his view, the solution to the problems of Afghanistan will have to come from within Afghanistan itself. Pakistan was making an utmost effort to resolve all issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, he said pointing out new phase of dialogue with India.
Gilani assured that they had not repeatedly said that Pakistan would not permit its territory to be used for any kind of attacks on other countries and it expects that the soil of other countries would not be used against them.
Taking credit of the entire show, he said he there is not a single political prisoner in the country while media is completely enjoying freedom of expression.
In his view, the civil society is robust and human rights organizations? assertions are making qualitative difference as far as the human rights are concerned, he added.

            <title>Imran Khan urges for reformed Indo-Pak ties</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/FkIjy_xrikE/</link>
<description>Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Tuesday said that the time has come to see change in ties between Pakistan and India, asking them to trust each other in order to make the region prosperous.
While speaking to Pak-India Economic Conference, the cricketer-turned politician observed, ?Time has come for new relationship between the two countries, as there is lot of common things between the two nations. We have similar background and culture?.
It was the second-day of the conference, which is being organized under the banner of Aman ki Asha, a joint venture of the Times of India and Jang Group of Pakistan.
The PTI leader, which is a revolutionary party that has recently arrived on the national stage, urged that progressive Indo-Pak relationship should be made by two powerful governments who can stand pressure and can transform words into actions.
Imran Khan said that resolution of Kashmir issue would be his top most priority if he came in power, adding that leadership of both the countries should move on to enhance bilateral ties as young generation of the two countries looked for a change.
In his view, a strong leadership is needed both in Pakistan and India to take peace initiative and resolve Kashmir disputes. There is natural affinity among people of India and Pakistan as both are seeking peace in the region.
The former captain said there was lack of trust and both the countries should take measures for bridging the trust deficit. He clarified that his party would not have political alliance with parties in the government.
In his view, there should be balance in trade between the two neighboring states and time had come for Pakistan and India to look at each other with different view point. He asserted, ?Dividends of peace are enormous and time has come for new relations and for putting an end to hatred?.
Khan was of the opinion that there were several interpretations of Jihad (holy war) but raising voice against injustice was also form a Jihad.
Chairman of Bajaj Auto Group Rahul Bajaj will chair the second session of the conference in which Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will address the conference.
President of Geo Network Imran Aslam and Indian Member Parliament Mani Shankar Aiyar will address the final session of the conference.

<title>Sights and Sounds of Pakistan: Lahore Old City Part-2</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/XMD30fAlEdY/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
Sights and Sounds of Pakistan: Lahore Old City Part-2
&amp;nbsp;
The Faqir Khana Museum is a private family collection housed in an ancient haveli in Old Lahore. A founding member of the family served as a prime minister and royal physician in the court of Emperor Ranjit Singh. Many of his gifts to the family are featured
in the museum. Treasures include royal robes worn by 18th century Mughal kings, a portrait of Queen Victoria, framed in gold and set in real turquoise, presented to Maharaja Singh by Lord Auckland, and a stone poison filter tested by a drug company,
 proven to work.
Gates of Walled City: Another historical heritage of the Walled City was its wall and the 13 gates leading into the city. Over a period of time the wall has withered away along with some of the gates. The 13 gates are generally known in
the name of places they are facing or any important building in their vicinity. These gates are believed to be constructed during Emperor Akbar&amp;#8217;s rein (1584 -1598). During Ranjit Singh&amp;#8217;s times, the fast falling walls were rebuilt in 1812. During the British
era, the height of the walls was reduced from 30 to 15 feet. However, these walls gradually vanished, leaving their gates as the only reminiscent and glory of the past. See a 1912 Map of Lahore city.
Delhi Gate: It is so-called from its opening on to the high road from Lahore to Dehli. As part of the reconstruction of selected sites of Walled City, this gate has also been renovated. Many a historical places such as Shahi Hamam (Royal
 Bath), Chitta Darvaza (White Door), a number of old havalies and the famous Masjid Wazir Khan are situated inside this gate. More Pictures.&amp;nbsp;
Taxali Gate: The Taxali gate takes its name from &amp;quot;Taxal&amp;quot; or Mint located nearby. It once provided access through the wall that extended the western length of the city. It was heavily fortified and was designed to protect the city from any
attack from the west-ward.&amp;quot; With the passage of time this gate has completely vanished.
&amp;quot;Bhatties&amp;quot; &amp;#8211; one of the leading sub-caste of Rajputs once abounded the area of walled city, where this gate was constructed. Therefore the gate derived its name accordingly. This gate is situated at the south-western bend of the city in its renovated form.
For some unknown reasons, whenever referring to the Lahorites, mention of this gate is the first one that comes to the mind.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/_BfPX2INgUE/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
Sights and Sounds of Pakistan: Sukkur part-1&amp;nbsp;
Sakhar, or Sukkur as commonly written but pronounced as the former had been a town situated on the right bank of the Indus, and part of Sind province even before the British India. It commanded the trade of Sind, and the river was once crossed
by a cantilever bridge carrying the North-Western railway to Kotri in the early 20th century.
In 1842 it came under British rule. The District Of Sukkur was created in 1901 out of part of Shikarpur district, the remainder of which was formed into the district of Larkana. It is chiefly alluvial plain, but there are slight hills at Sukkur and Rohri.
In the higher-lying parts are salt lands, or even desert in the area known as the Rajistan. The climate is hot, dry and enervating. The population in 1901 was 523,345, showing an increase of 10% in the decade.
A considerable part of the district is irrigated, the principal crops being wheat, millets, rice, pulses and oil seeds. Earthen, leathern and metal ware, cotton cloth and tussore silk are manufactured, also pipe-bowls, snuff-boxes and scissors. Lines of
the North-Western railway serve the district, and there is a branch from Sukkur towards Quetta.
Sukkur was and still continues to be a junction point for railway system for Quetta via Sibi and Jacobabad, while another highway and railway line go via Rahimyar Khan and Sadiqabad straight to Multan. Sukkur is a sprawling town, with beautiful mosques,
gardens, shrines and madrazhis (Muslim religious schools).
A desert oasis town, similar to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, it also boasts many havelis, however, unlike those of Jaisalmer, the Sukkur variety are decorated with geometric, floral designs and painted in a variety of bright, contrasting colors. Just across the
Indus is Rohri, also fairly prosperous and an important rail and road junction.
The two towns, 5 km apart and 544 km north of Karachi are linked by the Landsdowne and Ayub bridges, which are extremely beautiful. There is a medieval mosque with porcelain-tiled walls, and eight km away are remains of the ancient city of Aror where Alexander
the Great is said to have camped.
Sukkur has been an important strategic centre and trading route from time immemorial. Alor (present Aror, Sukkur) held the status of capital under the reign of Musikanos, when Alexander invaded India in 326 BCE.

<title>Sialkot: Sights &amp; Sounds of the Export Capital of Pakistan Part-2</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/h956QJkdiWo/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
Sialkot: Sights &amp;amp; Sounds of the Export Capital of Pakistan Part-2
&amp;nbsp;
The Sialkot district is spread over an area of over 5,000 square kilometers, stretching from the Ravi valley on the southeast to the Chenab River on the northwest.
The city, the district headquarters, lies just north of the Aik Nullah and south of the Jammu Hills and is connected by rail with Wazirabad and Jammu and by road with Lahore and Gujranwala.
The northern portion is very fertile; the southern, less fertile, is irrigated by the Upper Chenab Canal. About nine-tenths of the cultivable area is under crops. The chief crops are wheat, barley, rice, corn (maize), millet, and sugarcane. It is a rail
junction and a major trade and processing centre.
The area between Gujranwala and Sialkot is famous for world famous qualities of rice. While traveling on road to Sialkot, one is mesmerized by the aroma of rice paddies on both sides of the road.
Sialkot has the highest per capita exports in Pakistan. Three industries dominate Sialkot &amp;#8211; surgical, sports, and leather goods. Sialkot produces over 2000 different surgical instruments for worldwide export. Sialkot was selected to supply footballs for
the 1994 and 1998 World Cups.
It was once famous as a centre for the manufacture of damascened ware and paper, which dates back to the time of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Sialkoti paper, also known as Man Singhi paper, was famous all over the world.
Now, besides its three chief products, it?s also manufactures processed foods, ceramics, embroidery, ready-made garments and musical Instruments. Almost every product is exported to the world. The textile weaving industry is yet another thriving industry
 of Sialkot.
How Sialkot got into the business of its now thriving sports industry?
No one exactly knows, but it is said that during the British rule, a British broke his tennis racquet and, since an immediate replacement was not possible, he asked a local to repair it. The man did a perfect job and the sports goods manufacturing industry
took root in Sialkot. Recorded history of the industry goes back to 1895 when the city started becoming famous for its tennis racquets.
By 1903, cricket bats were being crafted from imported English willow and exported to different parts of British India and beyond. In 1922, one Mr. Syed was awarded the British Empire Export Award for supplying footballs to the British Army. Over the years
the industry grew to include a variety of wood and leather-based sports equipment, and diversified into related industries such as sports apparel and riding equipment and even the Scottish bagpipes.

            <title>Roskilde Festival vs. NorthSide Festival</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Manspiration/~3/q1k7ICIpYR8/</link>

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/SW3XpCeZMbE/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
Bhera: A Historical City Lost in Obscurity-Last part
1300 years ago, Bhera was a place of learning and people from other areas came here to learn about medicine and geography. Besides many Muslim saints passed by Bhera which became famous in the whole of Asia. Hazrat Meeran Sahib was one such saint, who worked
for the transmission of Islam in the area. His shrine is located in the western part of the town near river Jhelum.
People from different parts of the area visit his shrine to pay homage. Businessmen and scholars arrived first and then Gaznavi, Ghori, Aibak, Babur and Ahmed Shah Abdali passed by the city to attack the great Rajas and Marathas. During Mughal period, caravans
from Central Asia, Kabul, Qandahar and Peshawar used to cross the river to go to Lahore, Delhi and other parts of India. Caravans from Kashmir used to reach Bhera along with the river.
During the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar, Bhera had a royal mint for minting gold and silver coins. Bhera remained famous in handicrafts and cottage industry , daggers , sword , cutlery , walking sticks , wooden furniture , carved doors , cotton blankets
, silk loin cloth, hand fans , earth pottery and edible delicacies.
During English period , Bhera was so renowned for wood carving that carpenters from here were taken to England to carve some of the doors of Buckingham Palace. Today Bhera is known for its Mehndi (Lawsonia Alba) , Phainian and Pateesa.
Like all old cities,&amp;nbsp; Bhera was also built as a fortified city with eight gates around the city namely Multani Gate, Lahori Gate, Kashmiri Gate, Kabuli Gate, Peeranwala Gate, Chinioti Gate, Loharanwala Gate and Hajji Gulab Gate. Only four gates have been
able to survive to date, Peeranwala Gate, Hajji Gulab Gate, Loharanwala Gate and Qabli Gate are damaged now.
During the excavation of the Greek city of Bhera by Dr M Salim of the Taxila Institute of Asian Civilizations, many a artifacts of iron age, Achaemenian, Greek and Maurayan period have been found. Painted pottery dating from 800-600 BC and a terracotta elephant
have also been found. Soak wells, 10-feet high, were found in Bhir mound.
Today, this once thriving city lies in shambles and has been utterly neglected. The old buildings have been dilapidated, especially after the 1992 floods, when the whole city was submerged under many feet of water that eroded walls and roofs of havelis.
It is a misfortune that there is no official or public awareness about the treasure of the past.

<title>Prime Minister proposes uniform loadshedding across country</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/TK4df-5-txQ/</link>
<description>In order to reduce the intensity of ongoing energy crisis, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani proposed a uniform loadshedding process across the country and a legislation to put a check on power pilferage.
While briefing the media about the decisions taken at the national energy conference held under his chair, he observed, ?Both short and long-term measures are being adopted to overcome the power crisis in the country?.
The premier, flanked by five chief ministers as well as Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar and Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Majeed, informed the media that it had been decided that the government offices would work five days a week.
In his view, this step would result in saving 700MW electricity. Instead of advancing the clocks by one hour, office timings would be adjusted to minimize use of electricity in summer season, he added.
Gilani also announced that markets and business centers across the country would be closed at 8 PM except for Saturdays. Stressing on the need of legislation to put a curb on pilferage, he said abrupt steps would be taken to stop country-wide power theft.
While answering a query, the premier vowed that all out efforts were being made to resolve the energy crisis, as the incumbent inherited the issue of circular debt and the country witnessed a massive boost in gas demand.
In a bid to bridge the gap, Gilani said that the government was working on several power generation projects including wind, hydro electricity, solar, nuclear and other alternate resources. He also said that talks with India on import of electricity were also underway.
Gilani showed commitment to resolve the power-related complaints of Punjab saying these would be accordingly addressed and the government would continue to provide relief to the lifeline users.
Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in his inaugural speech spoke on worsening energy situation in the country, particularly in his province.
While proposing one-window operation at Prime Minister House to solve problems of power generation, he suggested various measures in order to overcome energy crisis.

            <title>Loadshedding and Energy Conference</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/-4QzBj4jbv8/</link>
<description>The energy conference, which held to seek curatives to deal with the ongoing energy crisis in the country, went through a power outage on its very first day.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani inaugurated the conference and rested the blame of the energy crises on the non-payment of dues.
In his view, the energy crisis affects every sector in the country and we need a long-term strategy to overcome it.
?We need to work in unison before energy crisis overwhelms us completely?, said PM Gilani. He said his government inherited a supply shortage of 2000MW in 2008, adding they need to promote alternative energy resources.
The two-day conference was arranged by the government to seek sustainable solution, with the help of stakeholders and technocrats, to tackle the ongoing energy crisis. It is being attended by stake-holders from all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistsan (GB) and Azad Kashmir.
Federal Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar proposed that in order to overcome the crisis, electricity can be imported from Tajikistan, Iran and Uzbekistan.
He observed that the challenge before nation was the most difficult one in Pakistan and can only be solved through participation of entire country. Our regulatory system needs strengthening. Court cases take too long to resolve, adding to energy problem, he added.
The minister stated one of the major reasons of power crisis was full cost of fuel not being passed onto consumer.
Revenues have been far too low to operate system due to slow government response to increase fuel prices, he said adding that 429MW have been reclaimed in less than 2 years thanks to USAID.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif complained that the provincial government was being punished rather than being rewarded for the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.
He was of the opinion that Bhasha Dam should have been focused on from day one as it could help in reducing power crisis. He said businessmen were not philanthropists, adding they have to make money.
Sharif also claimed that sugarcane could be used to generate 2000 MW of electricity. He recommended prioritizing industries and banning all unscheduled load shedding. He commented, ?There has to be a holistic energy policy coming out of today&amp;#8217;s conference?.
The CM Punjab said Qaim Ali Shah should be given full support to generate power from Thar coal. He claimed, ?Oil tycoons in the country are not allowing coal based generation?.

<title>USA insists India had no role in placing a bounty on Hafiz Saeed?s head</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/Sr9hj7YZ5OY/</link>
<description>USA insists India had no role in placing a bounty on&amp;nbsp;Hafiz Saeed&amp;#8217;s head
Pentagon spokesperson George Little says that groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba remain a threat to people in South Asia and to the US.
Speaking to reporters at a press briefing at the Pentagon, Little said that from the US perspective, the Lashkar e Taiba is a very dangerous group that has mounted operations externally. ?This is a very serious issue for us and that is why you saw this announcement,?
said the Pentagon spokesperson. He added that the Pakistani government understands the United States? long standing concerns about Lashkar-e-Taiba.
In response to a question on co-operation with Pakistan, Little declined to get into specific details of their discussions with the Pakistani side, but said that it was on looking for ways to co-operate with the Pakistani military.
Meanwhile, US state department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, explaining the delay in a bounty being placed on Hafiz Saeed and his brother-in-aw Abdu Rahman Makki, said that plans were underway for months, but less than a year, to put up the reward on the
 JuD duo.
She said that the process involves an intelligence evaluation. ?There has to be a policy evaluation. There has to be a discussion with Congress. This is a lot of money for the US taxpayer to put up, and so that process takes some time. Things have to be
correlated. There is an entire review process. There?s an interagency rewards committee that has to look through this, and then the secretary has to approve it.?
Asked about the how and when Saeed was linked to the 2008 Mumbai attacks, she said ?sometimes what happens is intelligence and other information comes later with regards to whereabouts of individuals, which leads one to think that offering a reward might
cause citizens who know where they are to come forward.?
?Sometimes that isn?t evident right at the time of the crime, so sometimes it comes up later ? over the last few months, that this kind of a reward might hasten the judicial process, if you will.?
Asked whether the prize related to Hafiz Saeed?s defence that he had been whipping up public pressure on the Pakistan government to not reopen the Nato supply route, Nuland dismissed the notion. ?No, it has everything to do with Mumbai and his brazen flouting
 of the justice system.?
She added that the US had been in communication with Pakistani authorities over the fire brand cleric?s arrest.
?We have continued to impress on the government of Pakistan that we believe it has a special responsibility to fully investigate and bring those responsible to justice to the extent that it can. The government of Pakistan has regularly, in our conversations
with them, pledged its cooperation in the investigations. We fully expect that it will follow through on those commitments. I would guess that this case probably will come up.?

<title>Manmohan Singh will visit Pakistan only if solid steps taken by the neighboring country</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/YRBes6e2cI0/</link>
<description>Manmohan Singh will visit Pakistan only if solid steps taken by the neighboring country
India?s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh thanked his Pakistani counterpart, Yousuf Raza Gillani for trade concessions given by Pakistan to India. However, Manmohan said that he will visit Pakistan only when some solid steps have been taken to improve the relations
 between the two countries.
The neighboring countries have shared strained relations since last 64 years, after separation. They have fought three full-fledge wars and as a result both India and Pakistan spend a lot on defense and purchasing weapons, instead of working for the betterment
 of their masses.
Kashmir issue has been a major thorn in the bilateral relations of Pakistan and India. Even after six decades of the controversy, it remains unresolved. Apart from that, water issue, Sirkreek and Siachen are also major point of differences between the neighboring
 countries.
The situation got worse after the Mumbai terror-attack in November 2008. The incident really hampered the relations between two of the most important South Asian countries. The two countries halted their sporting relations as well since then. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
Pakistan gave a lot of trading concessions to India last year and the Indian Prime Minister thanked Gillani, when the two premiers met at Seoul.
Gillani invited Manmohan to visit Pakistan but the Indian Prime Minister feels that Pakistan must take some solid steps before moving ahead with the bilateral relations.
&amp;quot;I had a good meeting with him. I thanked him for the trade concessions that they have announced. He (Gilani) said when are you coming there (Pakistan). So, I said let us do something solid so that we can celebrate,&amp;quot; Manmohan said.
India?s foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai was also accompanying Manmohan. He also expressed that the brief meeting between the two premiers was very pleasant.
Mathai revealed, ?The Prime Minister congratulated Gilani and said that he appreciated the move very much. It was a pull aside, but a little more extended.?
Considering the immense poverty in South Asia, it is imperative that Pakistan and India share better relations so that the two states can work for providing food and shelter to their people instead of waging wars against one another.

NorthSide Festival 2011 (Foto: Mikkel Kallehauge)
Eagles of Death Metal
Bombay Bicycle Club
Never Stop Coming Back? havde været P3s Uundgåelige.
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
 Bat For Lashes
 Bombay Bicycle Club
Choir of Young Believers
Dúné
Eagles of Death Metal
Emeli Sandé
Freja Loeb
Garbage
The Gaslight Anthem
The Hives
James Blake
Justice
Kasabian
Kashmir
The Kooks
Little Dragon
Lukas Graham
Malk De Koijn
Miles Kane
Mumford &amp;amp; Sons
Noah &amp;amp; The Whale
Marina and the Diamonds
Noel Gallagher?s High Flying Birds
Oh Land
Snow Patrol
The Stone Roses
Turboweekend
When Saints Go Machine
The xx

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand visits Harrapa, Peshawar Museum
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand is visited the Harapa Museum and Harrapa archaeological site on Thursday morning.&amp;nbsp;
She reached Harrapa via a chopper from Islamabad to spend a couple of hours at the ancient site.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is also the head of a public organisation with strong academic credentials in Thailand. The center is named after her as The Sirindhorn Anthropology Center (SAC) which was established in 1992 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The major aims of the center are to gather and systematically process anthropological data scattered throughout Thailand.
The princess is also keen to know more about the Gandhara civilization and Buddha sites in Pakistan and her visit to Harrapa is also a part of her learning journey.
Acknowledging her outstanding services and in promotion of Thai-Pak relations, President Asif Ali Zardari will award her with the Hilal-e-Pakistan on March 23rd&amp;nbsp;during the Pakistan Day ceremony.
Upon her arrival, special arrangements were made at the Harrapa site where a helipad was established and strict security measures were taken. However, the local administration kept secret her visit to Harrapa and did not allow the local media to cover her
 visit.
The Thai princess also visited Peshawar Museum. ?I feel happy that I could come here. This is the place I have known for a long time as my parents also came here 50 years ago,? she said.
The princess, after a tour of Peshawar Museum, seemed impressed with the rare collection of Buddha statues. In her brief interaction with media, she said that the museum had a good collection of artifacts, which were source of knowledge about human arts
 and culture.
?Pakistan and Thailand are two friendly countries, tied in a bond of friendship through mutual respect and understanding,? she said.
After visiting the Harrapa site for more than two hours, the Princess flew back to Islamabad.

<title>Fazlur Rehman urges to resolve Kashmir issue</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/szSDTB3DefI/</link>
<description>Jamiat Ulema Islam-F chief and chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said resolution of the Kashmir issue is requisite for long-lasting peace and cordial ties between two neighboring states.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the veteran politician has charged India of following an obstinate policy on the Kashmir issue, and freeing the reign of terror. In his view, merely any Indian leader plights to resolve the issue.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, however, denied any hostility of having trade with India, stressing that the Kashmir dispute should also be settled on priority bases.
He observed, ?Therefore, this point should be clear as to when India intends to resolve the issue. The resolution of the Kashmir issue was must for durable peace and cordial relations between the two countries, he added.
The JUI-F chief expressed his deep concerns that instead of working towards the conclusion, India was rather worsening things, by building dams on the rivers allocated to Pakistan, to stem water flow towards Pakistan.
He cited the recent statement of former Commissioner of Pakistan Indus Commission, Jammaat Ali Shah, accusing former President Pervez Musharraf of negligence in water issue. At the same time, he stressed on to dish out exemplary punishment to any Pakistani aiding India in any form in construction of illegal water dams in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Fazlur Rehman asserted that water was very important issue; hence, there should be no abandon in this regard.
Informing that Parliamentary Kashmir Committee had held two sessions to discuss the matter of construction of dams by India on the rivers, flowing towards Pakistan, he said they asked the Ministry of Water and Power to be vigilant.
He declared water as the lifeline of the Pakistan economy, warning of any negligence committed. He clarified that it would never be excused by the nation.
?Last week I met with the Ambassadors of Europe and had drawn their attention to this problem, calling upon them to play their role to this effect, and persuade India over the matter? he added.
Criticizing enhancement in Indian defence budget, the JUI-F chief said such steps portrayed its war advocacy intentions, instead of peace.

<description>PM Gilani lays the foundation-stone of Mirpur University of Sciences and Technology
Azad Jammu and Kashmir: (Monday, March 12, 2012) Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani here today while laying the foundation stone of Mirpur University of Sciences and Technology said that development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has
always been at the top of his government?s agenda.
The PM said, ?Ever since coming into power, the development of AJ&amp;amp;K and service to its people has been on the top of the democratic government?s agenda. I have always taken personal interest to make sure that rehabilitation of
the earthquake and flood-hit areas does not get affected and necessary resources continue to be released for the completion of rehabilitation projects. I am glad to inform you that majority of portfolio projects have been completed, while others are at various
stages of completion. All along, it has been my endeavour to focus on the reconstruction of educational and health facilities, which were badly damaged by the earthquake and devastating floods.?
Saying that the love for Azad Jammu Kashmir to every Pakistani was inherited from Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, Gilani said, ?Our passion determination to work for the welfare of the
Kashmiris demonstrates that Pakistan&amp;nbsp;and AJ&amp;amp;K share deep historical, geographical, cultural and religious bonds. The love for the people of AJ&amp;amp;K runs through the blood of every Pakistani. The lesson of deep emotional and spiritual association with the people
of&amp;nbsp;Kashmir&amp;nbsp;imparted to us by the Quaid-e-Azam, Quaid-e-Awam and Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto is etched deeply in our collective memory.?
Expressing the resolve to strengthen this bondage between the two geographical territories, PM Gilani said, ?Our succeeding generations would remain steadfast to this relationship of love and brotherhood. You may be aware that
Pakistan People?s Party was founded on the issue of&amp;nbsp;Kashmir&amp;nbsp;and I want to assure the Kashmiris that the government of PPP will keep their welfare close to its heart.?

<title>Hinglaj Temple in Hungol National Park Baluchistan: A revered Hindu Pilgrimage</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/CPeuEx41bNA/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;
Hinglaj Temple in Hungol National Park Baluchistan: A revered Hindu Pilgrimage
&amp;nbsp;
Hinglaj Mata is a Hindu temple in Hinglaj, on the Makran coast in the Lyari district of Baluchistan in Pakistan. Legend has it that when goddess Sati, the consort of god Shiva burnt herself in response to her father&amp;#8217;s anger at her for not inviting Shiva
to a ceremony, Shiva became furious and started to create disasters, problems, violence, and sufferings in the world.
&amp;nbsp; In order to calm his anger, god Vishnu took the body of Sati and began to cut it into 51 pieces where they all fell at different parts of the Earth. Hindus believe that the head of Sati fell in the area of Hinglaj Mata in Baluchistan, present-day Pakistan.
Thus, this area is a very significant region in the Hindu region and a revered pilgrimage site.
This was a prime pilgrim location for Indians until the sore partition of 1947 where Indians lost access to this cultural heritage, since it was then bounded by Pakistan. Hinglaj wasn?t just the only Indian site for worship, there were many such locations
in Pakistan that were worship spots for Indians, but the rage of politics destroyed the cultural heritage by storming such worship spots to abandoned dilapidated ramshackle premises. Such spots were Lakhi, the Phuleli site for Jhulelal, the Prahlad-Aditya
 temple in Multan.

One may still wonder, if that was the case then how come Hinglaj has till continued to be a famous pilgrimage. The reason lies in humanity displayed by the Residents of Baluchistan. The handful of Hindu residents who still reside in Pakistan wouldn?t have resisted
the tyrannical wave of demolition that ruined the cultural heritages, if it weren?t the Muslim residents of Baluchistan who stood firm to protect this ancient holy asset of historical glory.
It would be discrimination on part of Culture, Secularism and Humanity to call Hinglaj Temple solely as a Hindu Pilgrimage. The fact is Muslims worship it as ?Nani-Ka-Haj? which means ?Grandmother?s Shrine?.
Each year they organize a grand cultural-fair at this temple. Muslim residents actively take part in this celebration. They worship the Goddess with the same devotion as they do in the mosque. As for the offerings they carry mostly a Red Cloth, Attar (Perfume)
 and Agarbattis (Incense Sticks).
Just like Hindus they too worship the temple for their cultural rites and rituals. It?s impossible to predict whether it?s a Hindu temple or a Muslim Mosque. That?s the similar situation here in India too where the people from all the religions celebrate
each and every festival with a great pomp. It?s a fact that secularism and humanity can?t be restricted by self centered political stance and tyrannical rules.

It is about 170 miles(250 KM) fomr Karachi city &amp;#8211; one has to go by road on main&amp;quot; Karachi &amp;#8211; Quetta&amp;quot; Highway upto zero Point for about 75 miles and then by road towards west through Lyari town and then to signal Fauji Camp Stop, crossing Aghore River then through
GoongiRiver and last stop to &amp;quot; Asha Pura &amp;quot; Sarai.

<description>Free trade with India after December 2012, Federal Cabinet
On Wednesday, the Federal Cabinet has opened doors for free trade with India, increasing the number of products to be imported from 1,946 to 5,600.
The decision claimed superiority over the objections of Ministry of textile and industries, which had been forcing the government to restrict trade with India in order to save the local manufacturers.
The cabinet?s decision has allowed almost 90 per cent of all those products that India usually exports while before this decision only 17 per cent of Indian export goods were allowed to be imported in Pakistan.
It has also been unveiled that from January 1, 2013, India will be allowed to export its all commodities in Pakistan without any hindrance. In contrast, the ministry of textile and industries wanted to extend the restriction for the next five years.
Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan told that the Cabinet had collectively decided to switch from the positive trade list to negative trade list with India.
?The products from negative list will be completely phased out by Dec 31.?
On the other hand, the ministry of industry proposed their reservations over the timing of staging out of the list while the commerce industry remained in disagreement with industries ministry?s proposal of phasing out in five years.
The information minister expressed that full fortification will be provided to the local industry and defence laws will be summoned in case of any loss to national manufacturers from the import.
?This perception should be dispelled that the Kashmir cause will in any way be compromised,? she said.
The decision was warmly welcomed by Indian Commerce Minister, Anand Sharma, who said, ?I am happy that this has been achieved. We believe that strengthening economic engagement between India and Pakistan lies at the heart of building enduring peace and stability
in this region. Flourishing trade is the biggest confidence-building measure between any two nations.?
He said that it is a huge opportunity for Indian businessmen, as now they will be able to export their commodities to Pakistan by means of land, air and sea routes.
