            <title>10 must see?s @ Roskilde Festival 2012</title>
            <link>http://thisisbandit.com/2012/04/10-must-sees-roskilde-festival-2012/</link>
            <description>
Last week Roskilde Festival finally revealed the music line-up for this years&amp;#8217; festival. Most of the main names had already been announced, but a few new and interesting artists joined them.

While most people are excited about Bruce Springsteen, Bon Iver and Jack White, I have a slightly different view on what&amp;#8217;s worth paying a visit when the music starts blasting in the first week of July in the small suburb of Copenhagen.
For that reason, you here have an exclusive BANDIT TOP10 list of what to see at this years&amp;#8217; main music event in Northern Europe.

For those of you who are not familiar with Roskilde Festival, here&amp;#8217;s how I described it before last years&amp;#8217; festival;
&amp;#8220;Roskilde is small city not far from Copenhagen where the probably most recognized event in northern Europe is held every single summer. It?s a non-profit festival with more then 20.000 volunteers, which actually gives the environment during the festival an outstanding and friendly feeling, also called ?the orange feeling?, which is named after the main stage, The Orange Stage; A stage area that can hold more then 60.000 people.
It started back in 1971, which gives it 40 years of experience of now being one of the biggest music festivals in Europe. Back then it was only 10.000 people, which has now grown into more 110.000 guests every year.
Besides having the biggest names in music to perform every year, Roskilde is known for it?s rituals as the ?nude run?, and it?s huge accident at the Pearl Jam concert in 2000, but basically Roskilde is considered the sh!t for most young people in Denmark and northern Europe?&amp;#8221;
If you want to know how last year went down, give this a read!

The 2012 line-up already looks pretty good for a HipHop fan like myself, and unlike last year, I&amp;#8217;m very satisfied!
Here&amp;#8217;s a Top 10 of what I&amp;#8217;m psyched to see;
____________________________
#10 - Macklemore X Ryan Lewis
Even though Macklemore has been in the game for years he still hasn&amp;#8217;t made a real breakthrough on the competitive international HipHop scene. In Seattle he has made a name of himself though, and together with his producer Ryan Lewis he made the well known song &amp;#8220;Wings&amp;#8221;. He seems like a guy with a lot of energy, which is why I&amp;#8217;m excited to see what they bring to Denmark;

#9 &amp;#8211; Raske Penge &amp;amp; Klumben
For almost a year, these guys have been killing it with small local concerts all over Denmark. Now it seems like they&amp;#8217;re blowing up for real, and the venues they&amp;#8217;re performing at are getting bigger and bigger, which has resulted in a show at nothing less then Roskilde Festival. They&amp;#8217;re performing during the warm-up days, so make sure to be at Roskilde before the actual &amp;#8220;music days&amp;#8221;.

#8 &amp;#8211; AraabMuzik
At BANDIT we have been very impressed by this extremely talented YouTube phenomenon for quite a while now.
His skills on a MPC (drum machine) are indescribable, and I&amp;#8217;m really looking forward experiencing it live, and too see if he&amp;#8217;s capable of doing an entire set with that amount of speed and energy he puts into his performance.

#7 &amp;#8211; Royce da 5&amp;#8217;9&amp;#8243;
With both Royce da 5&amp;#8217;9&amp;#8243; and Yelawolf at this years&amp;#8217; festival I was hoping/expecting a performance from their boss, Slim Shady. Even though he hasn&amp;#8217;t been announced (yet?) I&amp;#8217;m still pretty excited about Royce da 5&amp;#8217;9&amp;#8243; though. He has some legendary songs on his resume and he latest made a pretty well recognized appearance in the Shady Cypher 2.0.

#6 &amp;#8211; Björk
To be honest I&amp;#8217;m not the biggest fan of Björk, and it&amp;#8217;s not something I normally listen to, but in the case of Roskilde I&amp;#8217;m very excited to see her performance. She has a very unique sound, and her music is really original, which I truly respect.
It&amp;#8217;s not her first time at Roskilde, so she knows the drill, which is why I&amp;#8217;m expecting her to bring something sick!
I know this is a remix, but it&amp;#8217;s from Modeselektor (who are also performing at Roskilde 12), and it&amp;#8217;s very good;

#5 &amp;#8211; Big K.R.I.T
Ever since being featured as a part of XXL magazine&amp;#8217;s &amp;#8220;Top 11 Freshmen of 2011&amp;#8243;, Big K.R.I.T has been a very recognized artist worldwide. His self-produced critically acclaimed mixtape Return of 4Eva dropped about a year ago and that definitely made a name of &amp;#8220;Krit&amp;#8221;. He&amp;#8217;s still &amp;#8220;upcoming&amp;#8221; but when he&amp;#8217;s featured on songs with some of the big guys in the rap game, he&amp;#8217;s normally over-shining them. (Some have compared  Krit&amp;#8217;s style with Outkast. Ed&amp;#8217;s, note)

#4 &amp;#8211; Malk de Koijn
If you&amp;#8217;re Danish and like HipHop there&amp;#8217;s a very good chance you&amp;#8217;re a fan of Malk de Koijn. The trio have reached a legendary status in Denmark after their reunion concert at Roskilde Festival 2009, and even though their songs (lyrics) are very odd, they still make plenty sense for lots of people, which is why they have so many fans. Illness made me incapable of experiencing the concert in 2009, and that makes me even more hyped about their performance this year!

#3 &amp;#8211; Linkoban
Brrrabrrrrra, Linkoban is slowly taking over Denmark&amp;#8217;s music scene with her hit song &amp;#8220;Like This&amp;#8221;. She&amp;#8217;s performing all over the country every weekend, and if you&amp;#8217;ve seen her live lately you already know that you have something to look forward to on Roskilde!
She has been performing her new songs with a live band, and it&amp;#8217;s working out very well. Like Raske Penge &amp;amp; Klumben she&amp;#8217;s performing at Pavilion Junior during the warm-up days, make sure to check that out!

#2 &amp;#8211; A$AP Rocky
As everybody else I&amp;#8217;m thrilled that A$AP Rocky is paying Roskilde a visit. It has been a while since I&amp;#8217;ve seen a young rapper go from nothing to super star in only half a year. He brought a new sound to the game, and it seems like everybody has noticed! I met him back in NY, and he&amp;#8217;s actually a very nice guy, which makes me respect him even more. LiveLoveA$AP.

#1 &amp;#8211; The Roots
These guys shouldn&amp;#8217;t even need an explanation. They&amp;#8217;re legends in the music game, and even though they&amp;#8217;ve had issues being accepted as &amp;#8220;real&amp;#8221; hiphop because of their high school orchestra way of producing music, you just can&amp;#8217;t f*ck with them!

Even though there are almost 200 bands so far, I&amp;#8217;m pretty sure Roskilde isn&amp;#8217;t done announcing artists yet!
See you this summer,
Emil
