<title>Iran says no to a new round of talks on the nuclear issue with the P5</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/v-sN5mpbdDI/</link>
<description>There is no basis yet for another round of negotiations with the P5&amp;#43;1 world powers after the current talks in Baghdad, an Iranian official said on Thursday as the final session here got underway. EU foreign policy chief Catherine
Ashton ?didn?t say anything new this morning? in a bilateral meeting with Iran earlier Thursday, the official said on condition of anonymity.
?It seems that the base for another round of negotiations doesn?t exist yet, unless in the coming two hours the two sides reach an agreement.? On Wednesday Ashton, on behalf the United States, Russia, Britain, China, France and
Germany, made a new set of proposals reportedly demanding Iran freeze the most sensitive part of its nuclear work, 20-per cent uranium enrichment.
The group?s main aim is finding the basis to agree to get into a lengthy process of regular negotiations aimed at hashing out the details of measures that build confidence in the peaceful nature of Iran?s activities. In return
the P5&amp;#43;1 offered a set of incentives that however fell short of meeting Iran?s main demand for any suspension, namely the easing of the crippling UN and unilateral sanctions piled on the country in recent years.
Reflecting official thinking, Iranian state media, including the Islamic Republic News Agency, all called the proposals ?outdated, not comprehensive and unbalanced?. Iran made a five-step counter-proposal that an official said
was ?based on the principles of step-by-step and reciprocity?, which the ISNA news agency called ?comprehensive? transparent and practical?.
?The other party knows the Iranian answer to their proposal, but we didn?t receive any response to our proposal. Maybe the level of the delegations is not high enough to be able to take decisions,? the official said on Thursday.
 He said that the United States ?is backtracking in comparison with Istanbul because in Istanbul their position was more positive,? referring to the previous P5&amp;#43;1 talks with Iran in mid-April, the first in 15 months.&amp;nbsp;

<title>Indian and Pakistan companies sign on TAPI deal ? Pakistan oil and gas news</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/bTvDbxHtfgA/</link>
<description>Indian and Pakistan companies sign on TAPI deal &amp;#8211; Pakistan oil and gas news
Turkmen officials have stated that the proposed
pipeline could carry 1000000000000 cubic meters of gas over 30 years, or 33 billion cubic meters a year.
&amp;quot;After
more than 20 years of diplomacy, 1,800 kilometers of gas pipeline, which connects one of the largest energy suppliers in Central Asia critical enough market in South Asia is another step forward,&amp;quot; said a press release from the Asian Development Bank (ADB)
 published in the media.
GAIL India Limited and Pakistan to the interstate transmission system Private Limited
were parties to the agreement with Turkmenistan. In addition,
Afghanistan has also signed a memorandum of understanding on long-term gas cooperation with Turkmenistan, the statement said.
India and Pakistan, as hungry for the supply of gas and Turkmenistan,
formerly part of the Soviet Union, anxious to escape from its dependence on gas exports to Russia.
Most of the
exported gas to help meet the energy demand in South Asia, where demand for energy will double by 2030, and the rest will alleviate the chronic shortage of power in Afghanistan.
The Government of India said in a statement May 17 that the pipeline will be operational in 2018.
India and Pakistan will get from 38 mcmd gas, while the remaining 14 mcmd will be delivered to Afghanistan, he said.
&amp;quot; This is a historical moment of unprecedented regional cooperation,&amp;quot; said ADB&amp;#8217;s
Central and Western Asia CEO Klaus Gerhaeusser. ADB has played a leading role in coordinating and facilitating TAPI talks over the past
 10 years. &amp;quot;This pipeline
is a win-win scenario for each member country, as this will allow Turkmenistan to more diverse markets and help power the fuel economy of the South&amp;quot;, Gerhaeusser said.
He
added that each country will win, calling him not only as a `world Pipeline&amp;quot;, but the channel of delivery of gas at the peak. With TAPI channel in place, the Turkmen gas will serve a wider range of markets for land, diversification of the existing markets
 in Russia, Iran and China&amp;#8217;s.
 Nevertheless, an analyst at IHS Global Insight Lilit Gevorgyan said that while the pipeline can be a profitable commercial project, it will work in a few high country risk security &amp;quot;, which puts the actual construction of a large question mark.&amp;quot;
Sale and purchase agreement between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are expected to be completed in the near future.
The next step for the
four countries TAPI is to attract commercial partners for the creation, financing and operation of the pipeline, estimated in 2008 would cost at least $ 7.6 billion.
Analysts and officials say that construction can cost from $ 10 billion and 12 billion dollars.
Separately, the Indian oil ministry official said last week
that the transit fee for gas was set at 50 cents per million British thermal units.
India imports 80% of the demand for oil while the decline in production caused him to buy an expensive liquefied
 natural gas.

<title>Pakistan considers itself at war with the US: US Congressman</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/SdsSB_MO3kc/</link>
<description>Pakistan considers itself at war with the US: US Congressman

Washington: (Wednesday, May 23, 2012) While reacting to Pakistan sentencing Dr Afridi for 33 years in Prison, the US department of defense said today that Afridi?s help provided intelligence that was very helpful with regards to
the operation that culminating in killing Al Qaeda chief, and thus, it, in no way was a treason towards Pakistan.
Adding further to his remarks, the department spokesperson said that Pakistan and the United States have a common cause of fighting against terrorism, and thus they had Al Qaeda as a common enemy. The spokesperson said that the
Secretary has already said ?It is a real mistake on Pakistan?s part.?
Viewing this in a different context, the US Congressman, Dana Rohrabacher said that Dr Shakil?s prison sentence is a ?decisive proof that Pakistan sees itself as being at war? with the US.
Rohrbacher further added, ?there is no shared interest against Islamic terrorism. On 9/11, Pakistan was coordinating the efforts of the Taliban who were in league with Osama bin Laden. In 2012, Pakistan is still working very closely
with the Taliban, whose leader Mullah Omar was plotting with Bin Laden right up until he was killed, according to documents taken from Bin Laden?s Pakistan home. Pakistan was and remains a terrorist state.?
Advocating that the US should come forward to help Dr Afridi, Rohrbacher said, ?Dr Afridi came through for the American people, now it is our time to come through for him.?
?Advocates of aid argue we should draw a distinction between the civilian government and the military-intelligence cabal who are supporting terrorist groups that murder Americans, but President [Asif Ali] Zardari?s behavior at
the Nato summit in Chicago indicates that he is either in league with the military or under their domination. Any money that goes to Islamabad will continue to end up in the pockets of people actively and deadly hostile to America? he added further.
Stressing on Hillary Clinton to opt for punitive measures to teach Pakistan a lesson, the Congressman added further, ??Secretary Clinton will have to do more than voice protests over the Afridi case. Both the Departments of State
and Defense need to take punitive actions against Pakistan. Carrots are not enough when dealing with an adversary. Sticks are needed to prove we are serious. Cutting off aid to the regime while providing support to groups like the Balochi people who are oppressed
by Islamabad will send a message that it&amp;nbsp;doesn?t&amp;nbsp;pay to confront America,? said Rep. Rohrabacher.

            <title>Food crisis hits Yemen</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/SkXl_WUJ7Uo/</link>
<description>According to a report, nearly 45% of the Yemeni people don?t have enough food for survival
This report was conducted by OXFAM, CARE and Save the Children. According to an estimate, about 22 million people in the country suffer from malnutrition whereas five million are in dire need of emergency aid.
In a country where almost 48% of the population is under 15, one in three children suffers from severe malnutrition. According to UNICEF, more than 267,000 children could die due to severe malnutrition. And a quarter of Yemenis are under debt.
?Unless an emergency humanitarian mission is established, Yemen will plunge into a food crisis of catastrophic proportions,? says director of Save the Children in Yemen, Jerry Farrell.
Humanitarians want to&amp;nbsp;take advantage&amp;nbsp;of the conference of &amp;quot;Friends of Yemen&amp;quot;, held in Riyadh,&amp;nbsp;Saudi Arabia&amp;nbsp;, to&amp;nbsp;call&amp;nbsp;on the leaders to&amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;intensify efforts&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;to help&amp;nbsp;the Yemeni population, and&amp;nbsp;try&amp;nbsp;to avoid a
catastrophic humanitarian crisis &amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;.
Though food is available in local markets, in much of the territory, the locals are unable to feed their families properly due to high prices and a severe economic crisis.
?Yemeni families have exhausted all their resources to survive the crisis,? according to Penny Lawrence who is the international director of OXFAM.

<title>Indian Prime Minister urges improvement in the government performance</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/-Hgig6jm21w/</link>
<description>Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has acknowledged the ?large unfinished agenda? facing his government after three years in power, and vowed to tackle corruption and fiscal mismanagement. ?I will be the first to say we need
to do better,? Singh said late Tuesday as he presented his graft-tainted coalition?s annual report card at a function in New Delhi.
Singh?s second term in office has been marked by slowing economic growth, accusations of policy paralysis and a series of corruption scandals that have combined to undermine optimism about India?s future development.
?Some people have questioned the sustainability of our growth process. I am confident we will prove the sceptics wrong,? Singh said, after listing achievements such as progress tackling poverty and improving primary education.
India?s economy is predicted to have grown 6.9 per cent in the last fiscal year to March 2012, the slowest pace since the 2008 global financial crisis, while widening trade and current account deficits have added to concerns.
The Indian rupee has fallen to record lows against the dollar in recent days, reflecting declining foreign fund inflows and frustration among potential foreign investors about India?s inability to push through reforms. Singh said
that his government must ?remove implementation bottlenecks that are preventing large projects from getting off the ground? (and) quicken the pace of implementation of our policies of inclusive growth.?
?I recognise that we face pressures on our balance of payments and that the fiscal situation requires careful management,? added Singh, 79, a softly-spoken former academic who is often accused of failing to provide strong leadership.

<title>Blowout Preventor case study ? oil and gas industrial lessons</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/7AJU3Kmojkc/</link>
<description>Blowout Preventor case study -&amp;nbsp; oil and gas industrial lessons
In the past, the oilfields were precarious and dangerous places. The workers known as oilmen had to wait outside the well and when the oil was&amp;nbsp;struck, they allowed the of gas and oil gust out of the&amp;nbsp;well. Then&amp;nbsp;they waited further till&amp;nbsp;the pressure dropped&amp;nbsp;
enough&amp;nbsp;in order to manually&amp;nbsp;place&amp;nbsp;pipe into&amp;nbsp;the bottom to direct the gush. These purported &amp;quot;gushers&amp;quot; were&amp;nbsp;stunning;&amp;nbsp;however&amp;nbsp;they were&amp;nbsp;dangerous, deadly and inefficient. A lot of oilmen were killed&amp;nbsp;and plenty of&amp;nbsp;oilfields were damaged. In the April of 1861,&amp;nbsp;a
blowout in West Pennsylvania initiated&amp;nbsp;a fire&amp;nbsp;that became the cause of a dozen of&amp;nbsp;employees.
Possibly&amp;nbsp;the most effective&amp;nbsp;acknowledged &amp;quot;gusher&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;blowout&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;happened&amp;nbsp;within the&amp;nbsp;Spindle top oilfield&amp;nbsp;close to&amp;nbsp;Beaumont, Texas. On&amp;nbsp;10th January, 1901, a well was drilled by three men for&amp;nbsp;Captain A. F. Lucas. The group was trying to find out
a new&amp;nbsp;bit with 700 feet of drill pipe&amp;nbsp;for a replacement within the&amp;nbsp;hole, when the well was made to ?kick? because of subversive pressure. The well pressure finally blew the&amp;nbsp; 4&amp;quot; drill pipe ,after a number of kicks, and out of&amp;nbsp;the outlet&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;during a&amp;nbsp;small time,
a 6 inches stream&amp;nbsp; of gas and oil forced out of the well, spraying&amp;nbsp;over&amp;nbsp; almost hundred feet (100 ft) in air.
&amp;quot; An Oil Geyser Remarkable&amp;nbsp;Phenomenon South of Beaumont &amp;#8211; Gas Blows Pipe from Well and a Flow of Oil&amp;nbsp;Equalied Nowhere Eise on Earth&amp;quot; explained by the Beaumont newspaper.
The three workers were totally illiterate and they had never heard or seen a BOP. As soon as the&amp;nbsp;mud and oil starts coming out of the well, they did&amp;nbsp;the sole&amp;nbsp;thing&amp;nbsp;they could have done ? run&amp;nbsp;away and left the way unguarded. This flow of oil gushed out of
the well for whole nine days before a valve was connected to the well&amp;nbsp; to prevent&amp;nbsp;the flow.&amp;nbsp; At this time, it was realized that if the fledgling oil&amp;nbsp;trade&amp;nbsp;have to grow and flourish, a&amp;nbsp;way has to develop to prevent such disasters.
The dangers of&amp;nbsp;these oilfields&amp;nbsp;didn&amp;#8217;t&amp;nbsp;go unobserved. As the wells goes deeper and deeper, pressures due to formations were amplified and blowouts were used commonly.&amp;nbsp; Many&amp;nbsp;inventors tried&amp;nbsp;to investigate&amp;nbsp;the ways for the prevention of the blowouts. These BOPs
were considered to be&amp;nbsp;put in&amp;nbsp;on the wellhead&amp;nbsp;to discontinue or stop&amp;nbsp;the devastating gushers. None of these presented designs&amp;nbsp;proved effective.

<description>Google løftede for nogle måneder siden sløret for en ny revolutionerende feature til søgemaskinen. Dengang hed det, at Google var i gang med at udvikle en ny funktion, der skulle være en af de største ændringer i virksomhedens historie. Den nye funktion eller algoritme har fået navnet Knowledge Graph og er nu tilgængelig på Google.com. [...]</description>
