Your Unique Depression: How to Get the Help You Need to Thrive Once More

Many people have to fight through their depression. ?Fighting? is the key word here, since it does take a certain amount of perseverance and strong will to terminate the often detrimental side effects of depression. Whether you experience mild or severe depression, it is a challenging situation for everyone involved, and can damage relationships, cause careers to end and affect how and what you think about yourself. The silver lining is, that apart from this challenging time, you can eliminate altogether feelings of unworthiness or low self-confidence and replace it with joy and an excitement for life once again.
Have you experienced depression several times in your life? Does it come and go with one aspect of your life altogether or seem to show up at random times? Depression often has a pattern, although not always. For some people who feel their self worth is strongly connected to their career are prone to depression each time they feel defeated at work such as when a project they worked hard on is rejected by their boss or when a promotion they apply for is passed up and given to another. By taking some time for self-reflection and getting to know yourself even better than before, you can become aware to some patterns in your life that you may have not known about before. When we are living with that kind of awareness, we can possibly eliminate depression from showing up in the first place.

Although some people call their depression, ?the blues?, depression is very real and should be taken seriously. Depression is not something that always goes away without the help of something else. In fact, in the most extreme cases, it can take on a life of its own when we don?t intervene, such as when depression turns into bipolar disorder or a chronic, long lasting case of depression that potentially could have been avoided if we had acted on it quickly. Depression affects millions of Americans each day and even more people throughout the world. If you are suffering from depression, you aren?t alone. Begin exercising and start there. Talking even a short walk can help you to gain a fresh perspective and at the very least, help you to feel better about yourself. Consider meditation and focus on deep breathing. Take an exercise class at the gym or just try your hand at something new that you have always wanted to do. Have you always been interested in photography but always been a little too timid to try it? Now is the time to dive into something exciting and just by taking this leap of faith can make major strides in eliminating your depression.
Have you ever been prone to the ?seasonal syndrome?? Although it may sound like a fabricated thing, the amount of sunlight we have in our lives can make a huge difference in our moods. In the wintertime, we can be become prone to getting depressed simply by the lack of sunlight that?s available. Women, for some reason are more prone to seasonal syndrome then men are. For this reason and if we know this, we can help in becoming more proactive so that when we begin to feel depressed, we know the root cause and can make some changes to fight our depression off. Depression can decrease when we eat well. A simple diet of fruit, nuts, vegetables and whole grains can greatly increase our mood so that whatever we feel about our current challenging situation in life can be altered significantly just by what we put into our bodies. It?s easy to buy cheap, processed foods but have you ever paid attention to how your body reacts after digesting them? Oreos may taste good going down, but how is your mood affected? Do you feel sluggish after a McDonald?s meal or just the same as you would after eating an apple? Many people react strongly after processed foods, and go into a ?food coma?. Processed foods can put you to sleep while healthy, whole foods such as grains, fruits, veggies and nuts can make you feel reenergized and completely nourished.

Oreo cheesecake

Creme:
300 g flødeost
150 g creme fraiche
1,5 dl fløde
Saft fra en halv økologisk citron
80 g sukker
½ vaniljestang
4 husblas
Sådan gør du:

Pisk flødeost og sukker jævnt
Rør vaniljekorn og citron i massen
Vend creme fraichen i cheese-massen
Lad kagen stå i køleskabet natten over.
