            <description>Både Samsung og LG har lavet to nye overlækre fladskærme, som vi kigger nærmere på

Det er fladskærms-sæson - det betyder at producenterne hvert år i foråret lancerer helt nye flade modeller som skal op og hænge derhjemme. Derfor har vi kigget nærmere på to af de mest interessante skærme fra henholdsvis Samsung og LG.&amp;nbsp;

Deres nyeste modeller i LED og plasma er ingen undtagelse. De ser flotte ud, men kommer med et par esser, som man ellers kun troede var forbeholdt spillemaskinen Xbox.&amp;nbsp;

Der er også mikrofon i fladskærmen, som registrere din stemme, så snart du har sagt aktiveringsordet &amp;#039;Hi TV&amp;#039; eller &amp;#039;Smart TV&amp;#039;.&amp;nbsp;

Umiddelbart virker begge ting rigtig fine, men er stadig en ekstra gimmick, som mangler en del finjustering. Det er klart stemmestyringen, jeg kan se flest ideer i. Specielt når man ikke kan finde fjernbetjeningen og gerne vil tænde fladskærmen.&amp;nbsp;

Håndkontrollen har stadig en del at arbejde med, selv om bekræftelser af valg med en lukket hånd er en rigtig fed ting i forhold til Kinects, hvor man skal lade hånden hvile over menu-valget.&amp;nbsp;

LG LM960v

Pris: Fra 24.999 kroner for 47-tommer. 55&amp;#039; koster 29.999 kr

Designet er forbløffende slående som lige i øjet, når man første gang ser på LGs nye topskærm. Det er en virkelig flot sag med tynde kanter og en fod, der får skærmen til næsten at svæve i luften. Sammen med aluminiumskanten får man i den grad lyst til at stille dette frem i stuen som sit tilbedte husalter.&amp;nbsp;

LG benytter sig af back-lit LED, og det kan ses på skærmens kvalitet, der giver rigtig flotte billeder. I modsætning til Samsung har den også passiv 3D, som jeg personligt synes er flottere end aktiv, hvor man har batterier i brillerne.&amp;nbsp;

Du kan også lave enkle bevægelser med controlleren, men det er endnu meget få kommandoer. Selv lover LG, at der vil komme langt flere valgmuligheder og stemmestyring, så man kan lave tale-til-tekst blandt andet.&amp;nbsp;

Mit korte indtryk

Jeg er personligt slået mere bagover af denne skærm, som står virkelig flot i både billedkvalitet og design. Desuden er magic remote et godt valg og en forlænget sofa-arm, når der skal surfes på skærmen.&amp;nbsp;

            <link>http://elektronista.dk/to-go/vind-samsung-tablet/</link>
            <description>&amp;nbsp;
Oh yeah!

            <title>Smartphones from 2011 and 2012 with killer displays ? Part 1</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/jMAtPA-88Ic/</link>
            <description>LED or LCD screens have always been one of the major selling points of the smartphones. Now-a-days the technology has become so advanced that it is hard for human eye to detect pixels in the screen.
The more the screen resolution becomes dense, the more complicated the circuit becomes and screen resolution is directly proportional to the size of the panel. However, it is the mastery of the smartphone manufacturers to keep the size of the end product in the same thickness and even more flamboyant models.
The introduction of Super LCD by HTC and AMOLED from Samsung, Motorola, Nokia and Sony have given birth to more and more phones in the market, making it hard for the customers to choose from the slew of such a big bunch.
However, in terms of screen resolution, Apple still is in the lead with its trademark technology called the Retina Display, with a benchmark resolution of 330 ppi. However, the advent of AMOLED has given Apple a run for its money.
Following are some of the smartphones that have mesmerized the world with their stunning screens.
Apple iPhone 4S
Though the phone brings the same shape and resolution of the screen from the 2010 predecessor, iPhone 4, since we are taking the 2011 and 2012 models into account, the iPhone 4S is the main winner of the bunch.
The 3.7-inch screen with 960 x 640 resolution, giving the competitors a benchmark of 330 pixels per inch to beat, the iPhone 4 and 4S are a hard to beat players in the market. Let?s see what they bring this year.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/2-xrDUW3Ul0/</link>
            <description>The most anticipated advancement is that Apple will build the new screen with the infamous AMOLED technology to give the phone missing oomph that its competitors have been bragging about.
Speaking of which.
Nokia Lumia 900
The phone was introduced in April 2012 with 4G LTE technology. The Lumia 900 is first smartphone from Nokia to arrive in the US as the Lumia 800 and 710 were sold outside the US. Perhaps the company did not want to risk a failure because of the lack of the 4G technology.
However, besides the network capabilities, its screen has been making news because of new technologies introduced.
Aside from the Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode technology, the company has introduced the ClearBlack technology that produces clear and deeper black colours giving the users a deep and differentiating contrast.
Moreover, the new technology has been augmented by the Gorilla Glass that covers the surface area of the screen with oil-stain-free quality. The resolution at 800&amp;#215;480 in 4.3-inch screen, maybe less than the iPhone 4S, is also an attraction and more than what can be bargained for in $99.
LG Spectrum
LG?s first 4G LTE smartphone in 2012 arrived in the US market in January. Besides being a 4G LTE device, the phone packed a punch in its dimensions and screen.
The Spectrum has a 4.5-inch HD screen with a 1,280&amp;#215;720-pixel resolution for the number jockeys. That translates into a very bright, crisp, colourful, and overall gorgeous display that supports 16 million colours.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/96525N00EuA/</link>
            <description>The best thing about the screen is that at 4.5 inches the screen is neither too small like 4.3- or 3.7-inch displays, nor too big like 4.7-, 5.0- or 5.3-inch screens. Its structure lets the phone fit perfectly in the pocket and the size of its screen makes it a handy phone as well.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Samsung was the first smartphone manufacturer to introduce Android?s latest operating system version, the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the phone was not just an ice breaker on the ICS but it brought a number of technological advancements to the horizon.
The touch screen was the most attractive part of the phone when it was released in November, 2011. It is probably the first phone, if my memory helps me, to have no touch or capacitive buttons on front side. That is the beauty of the screen and the operating system that the mandatory buttons, home, back/return and menu are a part of the screen, though they remain there for most of the time.
Moreover, the Gorilla Glass that Samsung has glued on the screen is one state-of-the-art innovation because it makes the screen curved in an extremely exotic way and that is propagated by the beautiful colour schematics of the ICS.
With a 1,280&amp;#215;720-pixel Super AMOLED resolution, the HD display is wonderfully bright and vivid with eye-popping colors. Everything looks great, from graphics to photos to menu icons, and you can customize the five home screens with the Google Search bar, menu icons, and widgets. ICS brings new folders and new widgets, but we&amp;#8217;ll get to those later. The main menu shows the traditional icons, and internal menus have the familiar list structure. This is a clean, elegant design that especially shines in the texting and e-mail apps, where it&amp;#8217;s dead simple to append an attachment, audio, video, and photos. Bravo, Google.

            <description>Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket
The screen quality has always been Samsung?s forte in the world of mobile communication. They never lagged behind their competitors when the world knew nothing about smartphones and keypad-based conventional handsets ruled the world. Now that the smartphone moniker is in the details, they are busy in giving their competitors a good fight. The Galaxy series is their main weapon of mass seduction, among the host of relatives is the S-series that has helped parent company in it?s cause.
The Galaxy SII Skyrocket came in quick succession to SII, released in the same year. However, its chassis and screen made it the best choice among non-iPhone alternatives. However, it even managed to lure some iOS fans to convert to the Android religion.
The best thing is its screen. The Skyrocket has a huge 4.5-inch display. Because of that, it looks more similar to the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S II, as the AT&amp;amp;T version has a smaller 4.3-inch display instead. The Super AMOLED Plus screen is as gorgeous as ever, with vibrant colors and sharp images. It&amp;#8217;s still stuck with the 800&amp;#215;480-pixel resolution, which doesn&amp;#8217;t look as crisp on a big screen, but we still thought it looked great.
All of the aforementioned smartphones are the best in the bunch. Though they are best five options in the market, the list is not formulated in any ascending or descending order, but chronologically. The best of them depends on the taste of the purchaser as the screen alone does not matter. Sometimes it is augmented by overall shape and sometimes the reciprocal happens.

            <title>New developments in the processor technology ? Quad-core processors replace dual-core</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/nsWTlXnX3No/</link>
            <description>One thing to know about the mobile computing is that it is evolving week after week. Not far the days when dual-core processors were considered the next big thing in the market, and it is not that far away, just 2011. Now that NVIDIA has offered quad-core processors, the 2011 models look the thing of the past.
NVIDIA has been the first to introduce its quad-core processor in the market in HTC One X and Huawei Ascend D Quad, which is soon to arrive in the US market. Since, the HTC One X is not going to be the quad-core version in the US, Huawei might be the first company to launch such technology in North America.
However, it is eminent to understand what the dual-core and quad-core technology differ in them and what possibly advantage does the new technology brings to the market. However, the new technology is the advancement and progressive upgrade to the dual-core.
First of all, the new quad-core is the basic brainchild of ARM, a company that designs the schematics of the processors, multi- or single core. The ARM processors are then incorporated into a single chip that is called System on a Chip, or SoC. These SoCs are then complimented by RAM and Graphics Processing Units or GPUs, at the discretion of the device manufacturer. Remember, the latter part is not the work of processor manufacturer or the processor designer, in this case NVIDIA or ARM respectively, but the companies like HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Apple.
The general notion is that the more we have the cores, the more we make the smartphone or tablet efficient. In the retrospect it could have been true but as the thinking process develops we come to have epiphanies. The latest of which is that though the applications run faster, they are not so energy efficient and multi-tasking is dependent on the app?s multi-threading capabilities and processors ability to distribute the app to different cores.
Therefore, the expression; more is better does not fit the details. What smartphone manufacturers have to do is to design the circuitry in a manner to divide the work among different cores. That way the processes can be run quickly.

            <title>Quad-core processors: Do they really double up the efficiency of smartphones? ? Part 1</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/d2Dv5M8wzag/</link>
            <description>As the numbers rise, so does the processor technology. Last year we saw dual-core processors dominate the game of smartphones and tablets. The year before, HTC brought the first Android smartphone with a processor clocked at GHz of speed, the original EVO 3G.
However, the technology has evolved and I must say that the process has been quite fast as the dual-core processors are now the thing of the past. The new quad-core processing units designed by technological company called ARM have been incorporated by NVIDIA. However, the latter one has managed to introduce the processor first in the market.
The processors succeed the predecessors the same manner car models do on the yearly or biyearly basis. The A8 single-core chip was replaced by A9 dual-core.
Differentiation comes two ways. ARM designs different chip models with different architectures &amp;#8212; like the A8, A9, and A15 chips &amp;#8212; each more capable than its predecessor. As a starting point, says Samsung&amp;#8217;s Nick DiCarlo, you have to compare the architecture of each chip when comparing SoCs. A single-core A9 chip (also called Cortex-A9) will dominate a single-core A8 chip, and so on.
Though more processors are considered more efficient, experts have a different view to this expression. ARM designs the processors but how are they incorporated into the chip is the art of companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm.

            <title>Quad-core processors: Do they really double up the efficiency of smartphones? ? Part 2</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/dszAG9HGN3A/</link>
            <description>Getting a license to custom build a CPU core based on ARM&amp;#8217;s raw instruction set and managing everything from design of the entire ARM-based system to the final production is the path to even better performance, says Qualcomm&amp;#8217;s Raj Talluri, vice president of product management.
&amp;#8220;We&amp;#8217;re able to get more performance with two processors than our competition can get with four,&amp;#8221; he said of Qualcomm. Although Talluri didn&amp;#8217;t say it outright, he could have easily been defending HTC&amp;#8217;s decision to use Qualcomm&amp;#8217;s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor on the One X in the U.S. and Nvidia&amp;#8217;s quad-core Tegra 3 processor elsewhere. For their part, Nvidia bought licensing rights for ARM&amp;#8217;s faster A15 chip in 2011 and Tegra 4 rumors are already coming to light.
Therefore it can be said that more processors do not necessarily mean better performance.
The question here is that whether the overall circuit in the smartphone able to milk the efficiency of the multi-cores. The answer is no. Doubling the processors not necessarily means that the performance has been double. There certainly is going to be a difference in the speeds and efficiency the graphs will not go double up because of the two core instead of one or four cores instead of two.
If the entire system is efficient (more on that later), Qualcomm&amp;#8217;s Talluri said, you will see increased performance. Just don&amp;#8217;t expect said performance to actually double.
The basic reason why quad core cannot compete with dual core on double the performance game, likewise with dual-core and single-core, is because the apps are not designed in that way. Most of the apps are designed to render in a single thread. The cores cannot make distribute code into two or four parts. That can only happen when the operating system has good coordination with hardware or the app has the capability of multi-threading.

            <description>The basic reason why quad core cannot compete with dual core on double the performance game, likewise with dual-core and single-core, is because the apps are not designed in that way. Most of the apps are designed to render in a single thread. The cores cannot make distribute code into two or four parts. That can only happen when the operating system has good coordination with hardware or the app has the capability of multi-threading.
The multi-cores will not help the smartphone until the applications are threaded and that depends on the capability of application alone. Then pops in the operating system that is responsible for distributing the tasks to the different cores in the processor.
The problem, said Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Microsoft, is that writing code to take advantage of multiple processor cores makes writing apps much harder. Likewise, there&amp;#8217;s a lot more complexity in debugging apps when something goes wrong, a challenge that many app developers are reluctant to face. Multi-core won&amp;#8217;t help you in a world where the apps aren&amp;#8217;t threaded.
Gaming and video are two examples of many apps that can take advantage of multiple threads. Let&amp;#8217;s say you want to stream a video clip from YouTube or ESPN. Video streams aren&amp;#8217;t easily broken down. According to Sullivan, video spools in a serial process, it doesn&amp;#8217;t easily divide up for multiple cores to work on and then reconvene. As a result, some tasks, like watching a video, will max out one of the cores while the other core or cores update apps in the background, pull in e-mail, and so on.
Sullivan&amp;#8217;s take on video is up for debate. Chipmaker Nvidia claims that its Tegra 3 processor can efficiently make use of its multiple cores even if the apps themselves aren&amp;#8217;t threaded, and codecs do exist to thread video streams.

            <title>Attention smartphone makers! This is how you should be milking the multi-core processors</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/0nX7RgQs1h8/</link>
            <description>It is considered, in general, that the more the cores you get in a smartphone, the efficient the CPU becomes. That probably has been the doctrine at ARM Technologies, who developed the processors and cores for dual core and now the quad core processors. However, the new quad-core and last year?s dual-core processors taxed the battery life in the name of efficiency.
What ARM and NVIDIA claim in the defence of the quad-core processors is that the new System on a Chip, or SoC is more energy efficient. According to these companies? experts, the less one core has to work, the less energy it uses. When a program is threaded four ways to either core in the processor, the work load is divided less to each participant as compared to the chips that have two cores or one for that matter. That way the processor takes less energy from the battery.
The above premise can be a possibility on paper, but in real life we have seen that the dual-core processor-based smartphones drain the battery faster than the single-core handsets. Though we have not tested the same with quad-core phones yet, the results seem predictable.
The reason, according to the experts is that no matter how smart the processor becomes or how less every core is assigned the work load, the processor is working and the cores are in action, using the charge from a single source.
Moreover, there are not many applications that can be treaded due to their nature of work. The smartphone&amp;#8217;s display, CPU (that&amp;#8217;s the application processor we&amp;#8217;ve been talking about), and the cellular radio suck up the lion&amp;#8217;s share of the battery, and none of the aforementioned cannot be multi-threaded.
What is needed in this regard is the efficient operating system that can run one or all cores according to the need. If there is only one application running, the OS should be able run only one core of the processor to save the juice in the battery. That way the smartphones can be run more than one day with toughened up tasks.

            <title>Why does Microsoft still support single-core processors? Cost and Battery effectiveness</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/tUJZlqE8Gnw/</link>
            <description>Though Microsoft is the last player to enter the contemporary world of smartphones, it has entered the arena with a bang. Its dedicated operating system for smartphones, called Windows Phone is one of the most efficient and elegant OS in the market yet. However, due to the already dominated=by=Android-and-iOS market, the WP could not attract much attention.
However, one thing still favours the Windows Phone-based handsets and that is the cost effectiveness and long battery life. MS still emphasizes that their operating system utilizes the battery in the best manner possible.
Windows Phone does not support multi-core processors and still sticks to cost effective single core CPUs. The reason, according to Greg Sullivan of Microsoft, is efficient and very optimized operating system.
In the real world, says Sullivan, people listen to music while surfing the Web, and that&amp;#8217;s something you can do very efficiently with one core. According to Sullivan, performance rests on how efficiently the operating system can manage tasks. Microsoft doesn&amp;#8217;t actually run multiple apps in the background: it suspends and reactivates them when you actually use the apps, a technique that sucks down less battery, but still lets you pick up where you left off in your browser or map.
Although with the evolution of the technology and software development more complex applications are going to start pouring in, and eventually Microsoft will have to move on to the multi-core processors in the smartphones, the need for now, according to the company, is just a hyped-up and complicated software development from the peers.
However, Qualcomm&amp;#8217;s and Samsung VPs, and the IHS iSuppli analyst echoed Sullivan&amp;#8217;s main sentiment that the way the operating system manages threads of code and processes in general impacts the phone&amp;#8217;s overall performance, no matter the number of cores.

            <title>Samsung Galaxy S III rygter</title>
            <link>http://www.ip-support.dk/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-rygter/android-4/</link>
            <description>Samsung blæste sidste år al konkurrence væk, da de lancerede Samsung Galaxy S II.
Får Galaxy S 3 3D-skærm? Nej, sandsynligvis ikke &amp;#8230;
World Congress show i februar.
Think big ? Very big

            <title>2012 ultrabooks that are in the market or are in the pipeline ? Part 1</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/rkHHfAmkeUs/</link>
            <description>The 2012 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas was all about ultrabooks and where Intel and Microsoft showcased the upcoming Ivy Bridge processors and Windows 8, respectively, every PC maker from around the world announced their slim notebooks that one way or the other are related to Intel or Microsoft?s new products.
The CES 2012 was an event mostly about the ultrabooks, there is no doubt about it. Most of these notebooks have either shored up in the consumer markets or are on their way to store shelves. However, many of them might not be rolled out until the second half of calendar 2012 starts as both Windows 8 and Ivy Bridge processors are planned to be released by that time.
However, the upcoming line of these ultrabooks, some of which have already been released, are worth a discussion. Windows 8 or not, these laptops?the ones that have been launched?are running a hot streak giving Macbook Air a tough fight in the consumer market. The specs are good the shapes are attractive.
Moreover, I will be discussing the cannibalization of the moniker Ultrabook because of some laptops that have larger footprint, killing light and ultra portability of category.
Following are some of the notebooks that either have been launched or are at the door to see the light of the day.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/RmGVwCKN_pc/</link>
            <description>Following are some of the notebooks that either have been launched or are at the door to see the light of the day.
Samsung Series 9 NP900X4B-A02
The laptop has been officially launched by the Korean company but it is planned to be released in the US and UK in April.
Samsung is planning to release a couple of ultrabooks in its Series 9 line of devices. The one under discussion is one of their slimmest. Samsung has even gone to the extent of claiming it to be the slimmest in the 15-inch models.
The larger footprint of the device begs the question, are these large laptops killing the charm of ultrabooks, which made the first impression of being super slim and 13-inchers with high portability, a more technologically advanced option to the tablets in the current era.
A lack of higher-end features, such as an optical drive, and the dongle-requiring Ethernet and HDMI ports mean that this larger Series 9 isn&amp;#8217;t all that much different under the hood from its tinier 13-inch sibling. Also, it only has 128GB of SSD storage, and battery life is good but not spectacular.
Tough the device is super slim and, unsurprisingly to me, gets the Ultrabook label issued from Intel, it still gives me the odd feeling of calling the NP900X4B-A02 an Ultrabook.
Acer Aspire S5
Launched at the CES 2012, Acer?s line of slim laptops, ultrabooks for that matter, is going to be another player in the market to compete on the thickness front. The S5 is planned to be launched somewhere in the second quarter of calendar 2012.
The launch and some of the specs that we saw at the Consumer Electronics Show suggest that the new laptop is going to incorporate the Ivy Bridge processors, though not Windows 8 because of its late arrival in the market.

            <description>The featured ports&amp;#8211;HDMI, USB 3.0, and Thunderbolt&amp;#8211;are tucked away via a MagicFlip port door, which aims to eliminate clutter.
We&amp;#8217;ve seen port doors on ultrabooks like the Samsung Series 9, but we&amp;#8217;ve never been fond of them. The S5&amp;#8242;s MagicFlip solution is clever, but we prefer side ports for sheer convenience. Perhaps the rear door might be a solution meant to interface more easily with a future dock.
Acer Timeline Ultra 14- and 15-inch Notebooks
As the name suggests, Acer is planning to hurl into the nascent ultrabook market with not one but more line of notebooks, slim of course. The Timeline series is another cog in the company?s machine to make a run into the ultrabook market with a blast.
The Timeline Ultra M3, the 15-inch version, has been released in the US market. the super-slim design and larger footprint surely will give the mid-size laptops a run for their money. On the other hand, a fearful notion surges my body as larger laptops are making their way into the delicate and budding ultrabook market.
The Ultra M3 is 4.4 pounds, but it is .79 inches thick. Of all of these, the biggest novelty of this Timeline is that it&amp;#8217;s the first ultrabook (as defined by Intel) to feature Nvidia graphics. It won&amp;#8217;t be the last.
With a second generation Core i7 processor supported by 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD storage device, the M3 makes a bolder move to the market to lure those customers who want a slim alternative to their existing laptops and but with the same 15-inch display.

            <description>Dell XPS 13
If you want to take a typical example of the ultrabooks, there are only a few left in the market and one of them is the Dell XPS 13. There are more and I will discuss them after doing with the Dell product.
The laptop was anticipated last year but Dell announced the beautiful XPS 13 at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 and now that it is available in the market, the device is going places.
With a smaller footprint, ultraportable chassis, lightweight design, SSD storage device and an integrated graphics card for better utilization of the battery life, the XPS 13 is the living example of the ultrabook category.
At $999 for a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD) and Intel Core i5-2467M CPU, the XPS 13 is reasonably priced, although Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, and others offer similar specs for $100 or so less. Working in Dell&amp;#8217;s favor are the system&amp;#8217;s excellent build quality&amp;#8211;the body is a mix of aluminum, magnesium alloy, and carbon fiber&amp;#8211;and its smaller footprint. It&amp;#8217;s not quite a 13-inch laptop in an 11-inch body, but it&amp;#8217;s in the ballpark.
Toshiba Portege Z835-ST6N03
Another example of the ultrabook in the current market is the Toshiba Portege Z Z835-ST6N03. However, the laptop was not released this year, it is a product of last year?s thinking when ultrabooks were still considered highly portable with small size, probably 13-inch display, no optical drive, integrated graphics card and long battery life.
However, the Portege packs the punch not with its dimensions but its specs and the price tag. The low-end model of the ultrabook has 4 GB of RAM and a second-gen Core i3 processor with a retail price of around $800.
The high-end version isn?t even pricier either. With 6 GB of RAM and a dual-core Core i7 processor, the company has managed to keep the device under $1200 cap.
