<title>Nicolas Almagro powered down Gilles Simon to reach final of the Open de Nice Cote D?Azur</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/36UBi09MkCo/</link>
<description>Nicolas Almagro powered down Gilles Simon to reach final of the Open de Nice Cote D?Azur
Third seed, Nicolas Almagro, crushed the local star, Gilles Simon, with a breadstick at the Open De Nice Cote D?Azur 2012 on Friday. He jolted down a 6-1, 6-3 success against the world number 12 to power into the title-round at this ATP (Association of Tennis
Professionals) World Tour 250 event held in Nice, France.
The ultra-fit Spaniard displayed brilliant skills to oust Simon in 68 minutes. Encountering each other for the fourth time, Almagro not only avenged his loss at the Hamburg ATP event last circuit but also levelled the FedEx ATP Head 2 Head series by 2-2 against
 the French.
Almagro went out of control in the opening set at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club. After Simon held his serve in the opening game, the Spaniard blasted powerful groundstrokes to reel off the following six games in a row. He brushed off both breakpoints he came across
and capitalised on three out of five break chances to pocket the breadstick.
Ranked 14th in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Almagro kept momentum floating into the second set. He earned the desiderated break in the fourth game and leaped to a 4-1 lead. The Spaniard swiped in remaining serves with poise and clicked
the set with a 6-3 victory.
Summing up the 26-year-old?s performance, Almagro hammered eight aces and brushed off all four breakpoints he faced. He manifested a lower first serve share of 49 per cent as compared to his rival?s 54 per cent but impressively availed 22 out of 27 points on
 it.
Next up for Almagro is the American qualifier, Brian Baker, who battled past Russia?s Nikolay Davydenko in three sets to set-up this meeting.

<title>Gergo Kis and Filippo Magnini dominate swimming event ? European LC Championships</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/R6MORJuHo0k/</link>
<description>Gergo Kis and Filippo Magnini dominate swimming event ? European LC Championships
Gergo Kis of Hungary and Filippo Magnini of Italy dominated the playoffs of Men?s 800m freestyle and 100m freestyle at the European Long Course Championships.
The European championships are of utmost importance as they provide a chance to their swimmers to identify their shortcomings and overcome them before the 2012 London Olympic Games in July.
Kis stayed considerably ahead of his closest swimmer and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 7 minutes and 49.46 seconds for the title of the event.
His stupendous &amp;nbsp;effort remained almost three seconds faster from Italy?s Gregorio Paltrinieri, who followed Kis on the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 7 minutes and 52.23 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Sergiy Frolov, who stayed almost half a second apart and settled on the finishing end as third best swimmer by submitting a time of 7 minutes and 52.81 seconds.
Following that, Magnini upset his challengers and earned gold medal of the Men?s 100m freestyle by hitting the finishing wall with the timing of 48.77 seconds.
With his invincible effort, he stayed nearly 0.20 seconds ahead of France?s Alain Bernard, who secured silver medal of the event by posting a time of 48.95 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Norbert Trandafir, who was only two strokes away and secured his spot on the victory stand for third position by reporting a time of 49.13 seconds.
Subsequently, Ingvild Snildal overshadowed her challengers in the Women?s 100m butterfly playoff. With her astounding pace, Snildal succeeded in edging out her strongest competitor over the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 58.04 seconds.
She was traced by Martina Granstroem, who captured silver medal of the race by clocking a time of 58.07 seconds.
Bronze medal of the discipline was gained by Amit Ivri, who suffered a deficit of 0.71 seconds from her former finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 58.78 seconds.
Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all listed events in men and Women?s corner.

<title>Manny Pacquiao: Floyd Mayweather is preventing me from fighting him</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/oNZKOwPLVgU/</link>
<description>The eight-division world champion and the current WBO welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao, is set to fight Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and he knows this is not a fight which boxing fans really want to see.
Almost everyone out there wants the Filipino star to fight the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather, who currently holds the WBC welterweight championship belt.
Unfortunately the fight between the two has not been made as of yet because Mayweather is not agreeing to the 50-50 split with Pacquiao.
Previously, in 2009, the undefeated American superstar, who holds a record of winning all of his 43 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, didn?t have any problems with the spilt but the fight was not made because Pacquiao didn?t want the Olympic style blood testing.
Nevertheless, now when Pac-Man has agreed to the random blood testing, the money issue has come in. Therefore, Pacquiao has insisted that it is Mayweather himself is preventing their much-awaited fight from happening.
The Filipino boxing icon said this in an interview with boxing blog Bad Left Hook, adding that: &amp;#8220;He [Mayweather] no longer wants to split the pay-per-view revenue with me equally, something he agreed to in our first negotiation.&amp;#8221;
Despite of all these facts, Pacquiao, who is rated as pound-for-pound the best in the world, is hopeful that someday his fight with Mayweather will happen.
&amp;#8220;Will the fight ever happen? It&amp;#8217;s up to Floyd [Mayweather]. I hope it does. I&amp;#8217;m a competitor and I enjoy a challenge.
&amp;#8220;I know the fans want to see us fight. I think it would be good for boxing. As long as I continue fighting I will remain hopeful that the fight will take place.&amp;#8221;
Well, all said and done, Mayweather versus Pacquiao is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport at this point in time and many experts think if the fight between these two pugilists happens, it will be the biggest of the century.

<title>Fernando Alonso tops the chart at Monaco FP1</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/Ez8qFcILk-I/</link>
<description>Fernando Alonso showed just how far Ferrari F2012 has come since its pre-season days as he finished with the leading time of the day on Thursday in Monaco.
It just shows how much Ferrari want the championship title for 2012. The update package they started to introduce at the Mugello test has worked wonders for them. The Spaniard finished with the best time of 1 minute 16.265 seconds.
Romain Grosjean in the Lotus was second with the best time of 1 minute 16.630 seconds. Grosjean was the only Lotus driver in FP1 as Kimi Raikkonen had a problem with his car?s steering wheel and did not take part. Lotus has been a strong force in the season especially in the last two races they have shown that they are very much in contention for the constructors? title.
Sergio Perez in the Sauber was third with the best time of 1 minute 16.711 seconds. Sergio was on the brink of a Grand Prix win in Malaysia but narrowly lost to Alonso.
Lewis Hamilton as usual in the season showed good pace and finished fourth fastest time of 1minute 16 .747 seconds.
The Spanish GP winner Pastor Maldonado for Williams recorded the best time of 1 minute 16.760 seconds. Maldonado was followed by a struggling driver Felipe Massa who finished with the best time of 1 minute 16.843 seconds. The Brazilian has been struggling so far in the season but he will be happy to finish sixth best in FP1.
Kamui Kobayashi in the Sauber had the time of 1 minute 17.038 seconds followed by Jenson Button in the McLaren who had the best time of 1 minute 17.190 seconds. Sebastian Vettel was at 9th with the best time of 1 minute 17.222 seconds.
The two Mercedes drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg finished at 10thand 11th. It will be interesting to see how FP2 fares as teams drivers start to learn the track and record better lap times.
Schumacher had another incident as his front wing was damaged and he had to drag it along the circuit towards the pit. He has so far retired in three races out of a total of five in the season.

<title>Morne Morkel not complacent after IPL success</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/EVxVrdZ9jD4/</link>
<description>Delhi Daredevils fast bowler Morne Morkel is the leading wicket-taker so far in the ongoing fifth edition of Indian Premier League. Prior to his IPL success, the South African pacer performed magnificently for his country, earning a nomination for the Cricketer
of the Year in the 2012 South African Cricket Awards.
Despite so much achievement, Morkel is not ready to be complacent, saying that making the best use of the opportunities was key to his success. &amp;quot;It&amp;#8217;s special. In the past couple of months, I&amp;#8217;ve been working on my game and bowling well,&amp;quot; said the fast bowler.
He added, &amp;quot;It&amp;#8217;s nice to get an opportunity in the IPL. I knew that with the quality that we [Delhi] have, I might only get a handful of games, so it was important for me to grab my opportunities and luckily, things have gone well for me and I have made a
 permanent spot for myself.?
?But there&amp;#8217;s no complacency, I have to be on top of the game every day to make that spot mine. Besides, as a team, we&amp;#8217;d like to lift this [trophy] all the way and I&amp;#8217;d like to be part of it. So my biggest motivation is to do really well for the team this
 year.&amp;quot;
Alongside taking wickets regularly, Morkel has been bowling well in the death overs. The highlight of his IPL campaign was a terrific effort against Rajasthan Royals, when he conceded only three runs and bagged a wicket in the 19th over of the
 game.
On his superb performance in the pressure situation, the right-arm speed star shared, &amp;quot; The big thing for me was that it was a win-lose situation. I just thought to myself that I&amp;#8217;ve been bowling my yorkers quite well &amp;#8211; in a way it&amp;#8217;s been my best ball so far
in the IPL &amp;#8211; so I should back myself and enjoy the moment.?
?I thought it was a great opportunity for me to make a name for myself. So my real motivation was to get confidence out of that and, really, I wanted to bowl [that over]. I think the most important thing is you need to be confident, so I just told myself
 that I could do it and tried to calm myself as much as possible.&amp;quot;

<title>Timothy Bradley says Manny Pacquiao is a huge challenge for him</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/IZfn7DFbKSE/</link>
<description>The undefeated American prospect, Timothy Bradley, who currently holds the WBO light welterweight championship belt, is all set to face the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, who is the current WBO welterweight champion.
The 28-year-old, who holds a record of winning all of his 29 professional fights (1 no contest), with 12 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has admitted that this fight is the biggest of his career thus far and he is really looking forwards to it.
The Filipino star, Pacquiao, holds a record of winning 54 of his 59 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. He is also rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet but Bradley says he wants to be the next pound-for-pound best in the world.
?I am thrilled beyond compare that I am challenging Manny Pacquiao. I was at the right place at the right time. But I&amp;#8217;m also deserving of this fight. I have been a world champion since 2008. I have unified the titles twice. I&amp;#8217;m undefeated. I&amp;#8217;m the best in my division. I feel I made the right decision not only for my career but for my life &amp;#8211; for my family. Looking back at it I can say that it was definitely worth enduring all the negativity directed toward me.
I am now in a place where I will be able to accomplish another one of my goals in life and that is to fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. This is a huge challenge for me personally and professionally.?
Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao will fight each other on June 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pacquiao will enter the ring as a red-hot favorite still let?s see if Bradley can really shock everyone by defeating Pacquiao in the ring.

<title>Harbhajan Singh says ?CSK played like champions?</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/IWGYOSlDZZs/</link>
<description>Mumbai Indians captain Harbhajan Singh expressed disappointment over his team?s poor show in the play-off, but was not reluctant to praise the opponent side, saying that Chennai Super Kings played like champions.
Mumbai Indians was badly thrashed by Dhoni XI in the elimination final at Chennai on Wednesday. Batting first, the Super Kings piled up a gigantic total of 187, thanks to brilliant batting by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo.
The two right-handers scored 74 runs off 29 balls for the sixth-wicket-partnership. In reply, the Indians were never in position to achieve the target.
As a result of a dismal batting performance, the visiting side lost the game by 38 runs. Harbhajan was not happy with his side?s effort and said that CSK deserved to be the winners.
&amp;quot;Of course, I am disappointed that we lost, but we cannot change the result. The CSK played like champions and deserved to win,&amp;quot; Harbhajan said after the game
?Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo took the game away from us in the last four overs of their innings, and there was not much we could do,&amp;quot; he added.
Dhoni scooped the ?Man of the Match? award for his rapid 51 off 20 balls. Michael Hussey and Subramaniam Badrinath also played well to add 94 runs for the second-wicket-stand.
Dhoni singled out Badrinath for his wonderful effort, calling him CSK?s silent hero against Mumbai. &amp;quot;Hussey and Badri gave us the platform with their partnership. Badri is our silent hero,&amp;quot; Dhoni said.
The wicket-keeper batsman added, &amp;quot;We did follow the matches, but it was beyond our control. It was always there at the back of our mind that we could still qualify and the results of other matches went our way. So we are here.&amp;quot;
Kolkata Knight Riders have already made it to finale of IPL 5. After losing to KKR, Delhi Daredevils are set to meet Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier.
The Daredevils topped the points table in the first round of the championship and have been consistent since the beginning. However, after such a tremendous performance against Mumbai, the Dhoni-led side will be a hard nut to crack.

<title>Dereck Chisora?s trainer says he doesn?t need British Board of Control</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/MqyjuOoqA28/</link>
<description>Dereck Chisora?s trainer, Don Charles, has passed on passed on a flattering statement in which he has said that he would have no problems even if he will have to operate under a foreign license for the rest of his life.
Charles gave this warning to British Boxing Board of Control because his man?s upcoming fight with the former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is not being sponsored by BBBofC since neither pugilist possesses a British boxing license.
Chisora?s license was withdrawn for his misbehavior before and after his February bout with Vitali Klitschko whereas Haye walked away from the sport last year in October and now their fight, which will take place on July 14 at the West Ham?s Upton Park, is being sponsored by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.
Nevertheless, Charles is not worried at all as he says he is fine with any organization who can provide him with money.
&amp;#8220;I&amp;#8217;ve always made my personal opinion quite clear,&amp;#8221; Charles told ESPN. &amp;#8220;The board have taken the wrong stance. They should look at it, review it, and they need to change that decision. I for one am going to work at that show [Haye v Chisora]. Why? I&amp;#8217;ve had ten hard years training Chisora, I&amp;#8217;m not about to walk away from my fighter on his biggest day.
&amp;#8220;I would take a licence from whoever lets me make a living &amp;#8211; at the end of the day, it&amp;#8217;s what I do for a living, so [it's about] whoever will give me a licence and let me carry out my job as a boxing trainer.
&amp;#8220;I&amp;#8217;d prefer to have a British licence, I live in Britain and I think they do a really good job anyway with boxing in this country. It&amp;#8217;s a shame, because I&amp;#8217;m a romantic, and feel the board should drop all the problems they have.&amp;#8221;
Well, all said and done, let?s see how BBBofC responds to this statement from Don Charles.

<title>Kimi Raikkonen says too early to judge success at Monaco</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/T5d6KyuXchc/</link>
<description>Kimi Raikkonen is confident that Lotus will be able to come up with a strong showing in the season but remains in doubt of how it will perform at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Finn has been able to secure two podium finishes in his first year back in the sport after a two year hiatus. It has been a remarkable comeback helped by a strong Lotus car for the 2012 season but still it has been quite an exciting show from Raikkonen who was still considered as one of the most talented drivers in contemporary Formula 1.
Raikkonen by many is considered to be one of the favourites for the Monte Carlo circuit but the man himself feels that it is too early to judge whether his Lotus E20 will have enough to secure a victory at the venue.
?Monaco is a little bit different and it&amp;#8217;s hard to say how it will go there,? he said. ?The team has done a good job so far and we still have work to do and things to improve.?
?So far it&amp;#8217;s going well and I&amp;#8217;m happy with it. OK, we&amp;#8217;re not 100 per cent satisfied with it because we are not winning but that&amp;#8217;s a very normal thing and I&amp;#8217;m pleased for the team. To be on the podium twice already is good. Unfortunately you&amp;#8217;re not always going to get there. If you get the chance, you should take it because it&amp;#8217;s not every race that you will be able to fight for that position,? he added.
He added that he hopes that the team goes on to push just has hard as it has been so far. It is going to be a matter of time before the team gets the desired results in the season. The car is strong and has made good progress so far.
History is on Enstone?s side as it has done well over the years at Monaco but the previous year car was not good enough and struggled. The team might have to work hard to overcome that this year. Lotus is introducing a special high downforce wing specifically designed for the Monaco track.
It will be interesting to see how they fare on the race day.

<description>Rafael Munoz Perez and Aristeidis Grigoriadis win swimming titles ? European Long Course Championships

 of 53.86 seconds.
He was chased by Meeuw, who remained 0.20 seconds apart and reached the finishing end for silver medal by reporting a time of 54.06.

<title>David Haye and Adam Booth fires back at Bernd Boente</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/dq8fqBBOh1A/</link>
<description>Bernd Boente, who manages both Vitali Klitschko and his brother Wladimir Klitschko, recently accused David Haye of turning down the prospect of a fight against his man Vitali Klitschko, who currently holds the WBC heavyweight championship belt. However, Haye and his manager, Adam Booth, have rubbished all accusations as they have said that having a fight with Vitali is still their ultimate goal.
The 31-year-brash Londoner, more commonly known the Hayemaker, told the media that he has set up a fight with Chisora only because he wants to get a shot against Vitali.
?It makes absolutely no sense for me to turn down a fight I desperately want,? said Haye. ?Remember, the whole idea behind going ahead with this Chisora fight was that a victory may then lead to a fight with Vitali Klitschko.
Adam Booth on the other hand insisted that he and his fighter agreed for the fight but they got no response from the Klitschko camp.
?A few weeks ago I received a first draft contract from K2/KMG (the Klitschkos), as a formal offer for the fight between David and Vitali,? Booth told World Boxing News.
?Once we&amp;#8217;d announced the Chisora fight I left a message for Shelly Finkel, in which I informed him we were ready to move to completion of the agreement for Vitali versus David. However, since that message was sent to Finkel, I have received no reply.
?Today I read that Herr Boente claims David &amp;#8216;turned the fight down&amp;#8217; and &amp;#8216;does not want to fight Vitali&amp;#8217;. Both of these claims are completely false. If Vitali wants to fight David in September, we are here and happy to accept. If not, no worries or sadness from our side.?
David Haye and Dereck Chisora will fight for the WBO International and WBA inter-continental titles on July 14 at the West Ham?s Upton Park. The fight has been not been sanctioned by the British Board of Control (BBBofC) yet it has created a lot of hype among the boxing fans because everyone knows it will be an explosive one.

<title>Sourav Ganguly has no plans of quitting IPL</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/gmXkfCbYlJU/</link>
<description>Pune Warriors India skipper Sourav Ganguly has not ruled himself out of the next edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). Under his command, the Warriors performed poorly this season, finishing with the wooden spoon.
After making a decent start, Ganguly XI lost its direction, suffering some miserable defeats towards the end of the tournament. After his side?s poor show, there are speculations that Ganguly will only perform coaching duties
 next season.
However, the former Indian captain is not ready to hang his boots despite producing nothing special both as captain and skipper. He stated that he is yet to make a final decision about his IPL future.
&amp;quot;[About next year], I will see next season. As a matter of fact, I would not be even 40 when IPL 6 will begin in 2013. I&amp;#8217;m also a human and prone to failures. Somehow you have to deal with it,? Ganguly said.
?Many captains have failed [in the IPL] but it&amp;#8217;s Sourav Ganguly who always makes the headlines. I&amp;#8217;m satisfied with my fitness. Obviously, I can&amp;#8217;t be fit like a 23- or 24-year-old. But at least, I didn&amp;#8217;t spill a catch or regret
something on the field,&amp;quot; he added.
Meanwhile, Dada predicted that the final encounter will be between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. The Knight Riders have already made it to the ultimate battle following their clinical victory over Delhi Daredevils
 on Tuesday.
Talking about Kolkata?s extraordinary performance this season, Ganguly stated that the West Indian spinner, Sunil Narine, is the biggest reason for Kolkata?s superb show so far in the championship.
&amp;quot;Sunil Narine is the number one reason for their good show this season. He is having a psychological effect on the batsmen. By him bowling a tight spell, [it] puts additional pressure on the batsmen against the other bowlers,&amp;quot;
 he said.
&amp;quot; In Twenty20, it depends on the current form. Delhi had finished last in the last year but they topped the group league this season. It&amp;#8217;s a two-month-long tournament, played once in a year. So it&amp;#8217;s about the team that performs
in the period,&amp;quot; the classy left-hander explained.

            <title>Daniel Ricciardo inspired by Pastor Maldonado?s achievement</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Newspakistanpk/~3/MtEfnYOdbCk/</link>
<description>Daniel Ricciardo says he has been inspired by Pastor Maldonado?s win at the Spanish Grand Prix and hopes to pull off a bit of a miracle of his own.
Ricciardo said that he hopes that he can win the next race to be held in Monaco after witnessing Maldonado?s victory. The Williams driver drove impressively to keep the likes of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen off from taking his leading position. It was a surprising victory as no one really gave Williams any chance of coming up with a victory.
Toro Rosso has not shown much progress in the season so far. The team has only been able to score six points after five races have gone by. The Spanish Grand Prix saw both the Toro Rosso drivers to Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne finished out of the top ten standings.
Still Ricciardo feels that he can do well as Toro Rosso did better than Williams in 2011 and finished higher in the Constructors? Championship.
?That&amp;#8217;s Spain done and dusted and now we can look forward to Monaco, which is obviously a very special place,? Ricciardo said. ?I really enjoy racing there, as I really love street circuits. I&amp;#8217;ve only ever driven proper street tracks at Macau and Monaco but I loved them from the first moment I drove them. To race on those bumpy, slippery roads with the walls being so close is fantastic. There&amp;#8217;s so much going on for a driver to contend with. There&amp;#8217;s no room for error.?
Ricciardo added that for him 2010 was the best year. He had won the Formula Renault 3.5 and few hours later Mark Webber won the Grand Prix at Monaco. He is hoping for a repeat he added while also saying that the current season has been very unpredictable.
Maldonado?s win in Barcelona was a good example of the unpredictability of the season. No doubt Williams are a strong team and looking at their performance in Barcelona Williams clearly look to be a step in ahead of Toro Rosso. Sauber has also shown good promise and strong performances in the season so Toro Rosso are looking at Force India as their rivals of the season.
Ricciardo explained that he understood that Force India will be the team to compete against for Toro Rosso in the current season.

The 17-year-old Bonsanti remained considerably faster from her closest challenger as she hit the finishing wall with the timing of 17 minutes and 41.39 seconds.
The champion was chased by Florencia Melo, who stayed almost six seconds slower and emerged on the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a time of 17 minutes and 47.76 seconds.
